Five full years later, and here Ruby was, getting ready for her last fashion show with Sydney. It's a shame of what Ruby thinks of herself as. If only she had that one person to tell her she was beautiful no matter what her skin tone was.
Ruby pov
Thank god today was the last day of me on the runway. I wasn't a world known model like I hoped I would be, but I've realized I'm not cut out to be center of attention. Sydney doesn't want me to leave, but now that I'm out of college I want to start my life on a different path.
I heard a sturdy seven, slow knocks at the door and knew who it was already, "Come in Sydney!" I called out, and he popped hs head in. "There's my star!" He cheered while hugging me tightly, "I'm going to miss you so much!" I hugged me even tighter, "Are you sure you want to leave? You could stay as long as you want, no questions asked." He pouted, finally releasing me, "I don't think this is the career I see me spending the rest of my life in, I might do a couple of photo shoots here and there, but there's a lot of girls out there that wish they could be right where I'm standing, and me being here affects that, and besides, I really want to be an-"
"Actress, I know. You've said this everyday, you've even majored in fine arts!" He jokingly exclaimed as he brushed my hair back. "But still, whenever you want a quick show or two, I'm your guy okay?"
"Thanks for everything Sydney." This time I gave him a big hug, but it was interrupted by a knock on the door then the barging in of my auntie and my best friend, Camryn Roberts. I met her at college during her halftime game when I accidentally dropped my phone, but thankfully she caught it.. She's a much better actress than I am, but she continued in her basketball career and now plays for the California Cubs.
My auntie and Camryn saw we were hugging and joined the hug.
About a minute later my mom came to the door, leaning on it's frame and took a picture of us. "I think we have a show to get done." My mom started tapping her watch then left the room. The hug lasted one more second then we all let go and left the room.
It took a little while, but I was finally up and I gave it all I got since today was my last day, but thankfully it was over and could go and get dressed for the after party.
I heard a knock on my door and I grabbed my bag then rushed over to it and answered it to find my mom leaning against the door frame with the janitor in the background sweeping.
"I took that long?" I asked while scratching my head and my mom nodded Yes while walking off to the car making me follow.
We made it to the banquet and my mother went ahead inside while I took my time. I got out the car, Pat my dress down and flipped my hair back. Thank god for puberty cause now I had a coke figure instead of what I had in high school and looked so much different but it was a good different I guess.
I gave a sighed of relief then walked up the small steps and stepped inside the loud banquet and almost jumped out of my shoes when I looked out the corner of my eye...
