They both kind of pretended like the kiss never happened. It still lingered in the back of their minds, but they both had different reasons why talking about it was not a good idea.

For Tae it was because it was all happening too fast. He isn't sure anymore, if it was the soul mate thing that was drawing them closer but the word 'close' itself terrifies Tae. He has never left himself be emotionally open to anyone, not ever since when he was 7 years old.

When Tae was going through his first few foster care families. There was one couple that actually made him believe they cared. They were from a well off family, only volunteering to be a foster family out of the goodness of their hearts and not for the check that comes attach to the tittle every month. They called Tae their little angel and treated him like their actual child. They made him breakfast every morning, walking him to school, took him to the parks on the weekend, actually sitting down and helping him with homework. They would have family time, and would even read to him at night before tucking him in. They never forget to kiss him good night and to tell him that they loved him.

Until one night something changed. The husband came home from work and Tae could hear from the stairs where he usually would run down and greet the man; the wife excitedly told him about the good news! They were both hugging and crying and then all too soon Tae heard them say ,"What do we do about the boy?" "We can't raise both" "He has to go" "what do we tell him?" "He's too young to understand" "I'll call them tomorrow".

Days leading up to them sending him away, they stopped showering him with kindness, but instead awkwardness and apologies. They stopped helping him with his schoolwork and set his dinner to the side so he can eat on his own. They stopped reading to him or tucking him in at night. Even on the day that he left, they didn't even kiss him goodbye.

And the next family after that was the worse of the worse, but nothing ever compare to how much that one loving couple broke Tae down to a million little pieces.

He hated reliving those memories, but yet Jungkook had brought it all out again. Making him face one of the many things that made him built a wall so thick and a fortress so tall that no one could ever come close to him again.

IM SORRY (tae hears Jungkook voice inside his head). I DIDN'T MEAN TO SEE INTO YOUR MEMORIES. YOU WERE JUST THINKING VERY LOUD. AND YOUR PAIN...I FELT IT TOO'

They were in the uber on the way to the orphanage, and Tae had no more energy to be angry at something Jungkook had no control over.

ITS FINE. – was all Tae could muster to respond back.

Tae could feel Jungkook reach for his hand and held it. It was a simple gesture and usually Tae would go off, but it felt nice. Plus again....he really had no more energy left to fight.
