Before the dismissal bell could ring during first block, Jason was caught by the cautious eye of the teacher. Scolding him, she sent him to the office for not being in the proper dress attire for school. At that moment, I wasn't paying much attention and totally forgot to hand him his hoodie. For the remainder of the day, I tried to find his whereabouts with absolutely no luck.

Still wearing Jason's hoodie, I lean against Johns car, waiting for for him to appear so I could finally go home and question my mother about the gift she had so happily wrapped for Dylan.

Dylan and I hadn't talked about the unexpected present yet, but I just knew my phone would be blasting with phone calls from him tonight.

I should have probably looked inside before I gave it to him...

And I would also have to buy him a replacement gift and come up with a fantastic best-friend-winning apology.

I sighed heavily and drooped my shoulders, watching the students and teachers get into their cars and buses, exiting school grounds. I also hadn't seen John all day either, we didn't have any classes together or any relatively close to one another. So basically, the guys I'd actually wanted to see today, hadn't shown up.

Just as I pulled out my cellular device, on the verge of texting John, he comes into view. Oh, but no alone.

Strolling next to him was a golden eyed beauty. I watched as they walked side by side, both having flirtatious smirks on their faces. John was holding a binder I didn't recognize. It had hearts and stars all over its pink plastic covering, looking as if it belonged to a girl and not a teenage boy.

I then assumed he was holding Jessica's binder, as a grand gesture of kindness or maybe he was trying to show her what a gentleman he could be. Could be both, I guess.

How the heck did he manage to get her attention on his first day? Can't tell you how many times I tried to get my past crushes attention without success.

As they approached, I raised myself from the car and walked to the passenger side.

"Well, here's my car," John spoke, having a bit of disappointment interwined in his voice.

Jealously slowly took over my content feeling. I shook my head, as if that would make the feeling vanish, it didnt. Hey, maybe I wasn't jealous 'cause he was with her. I could be misinterrpting my feelings and perhaps I was jealous because he's so much better at gaining attention from people he found interest in than me.

Her glossy hair swayed in the midday wind, making her look even more attractive. She pouted, sad to see he had come to his destination.

As they stared at each other, I wondered if they felt my presence. No, no they didn't. Not once did any of them glance in my direction.

My lips pursed and my eyebrows furrowed. Literally, standing there staring at each other. If I hadn't know any better, I would say they were either attempting telepathy or were about to kiss.

My eyes widened and I rose my hand up to my mouth before attempting a fake cough.

Their eyes gazed over at me quickly. I tried my best to smile, but I just couldn't. "Uh, yeah, sorry to interrupt, but I do have to get home." I placed my hands behind my back and rocked back and forth on my heels. They looked truly intrigued in each other and seemed to enjoy each others company.

While Jessica's twinkling eyes dismissed, Johns posture degraded. "Right," he said, glancing at the cemented ground, his dark locks swiftly going along with the rhythm of the wind.
