Chapter 15-Mr. Red

“Was ist los mit dir!“ A man yelled at me, snapping me out of my fear. “What’s wrong with you?” Duke asked obviously irritated at the German man. “I’m fine…oh I need this.” I turned and ripped his dog tags right off his neck. “What the heck is wrong with you?!” Duke shouted. “Shh, I already made a commotion with the plane. I don’t need you yelling at me.” I growled walking off the plane as if it wasn’t even there. Duke grumbled to himself and Kris walked off happily. “WHOA! Look at that guy he has a gold tooth!” Kris screeched. “Kris shut up!” I growled. As I walked down the street people looked at us, mostly at me in fear. “Wer ist das?” some of them whispered.

Good girl! Good girl! This is what I’ve been aiming for the whole time, go get him! Go kill Mr. Red. He deserves whats coming to him. It’ll teach him for trying to mess with the Author, stealing my stuff. Oh…wait…I forgot one thing.

“Stop ich habe etwas fur sie!“ A man chased after Kris. She looked at him confused but a smile appeared on her face. “Oh hi here stranger!” She cheered. “Es ist von einem geliebten menschen.“ The man told her. She laughed for a while. You would think she was insane until she said, “You talk funny!” she giggled. “He’s speaking German.” I told her. “It sounds weird.” She told me still giggling. “Es tut mir leid, sie ist verruckt.“ I sighed. He laughed to, he said he understood and gave Kris the box he was holding. It wasn’t big at all; it looked like it held a small stone. I was wrong, it was a diamond necklace. “Hey somebody loves me!” Kris cheered. “I’m not disagreeing.” Duke mumbled eyes wide behind his sunglasses. “Who gave that you?” I asked, and then I recognized something. That diamond, it looked so familiar. I then slapped my forehead, making Kris jump. “Oh good lord, that’s from Mr. Red.” I mumbled. “Wait, what did you just say?” Duke looked at me, all surprise draining from his face. “I killed a woman with that diamond on her finger. He knows we’re here.” I turned and started walking towards the big building that blocked the sun.

“Duke, stay out of sight.” I told him. He was about to say something but I heard someone coming down the steps; I then pushed him into the planter along with Kris. “Tara? What took you so long, I started to worry.” Mr. Red smiled at me as I turned. “Oh um, Duke really is hard to kill. You know Army Strong and all that.” I smiled. I could almost feel Dukes glare burn into the back of my head. “True my girl true. Oh and exactly how did you kill him?” he asked me. That was the question I dreaded. “Shot him. Buried him in the desert, take these dog tags they disgust me.” I told him, he took the dog tags and looked at them. “Well, I would say I was happy he was one last thing to get rid of, but that would be a lie.” Mr. Red looked at me. I was then ready for anything, guns, knives, guards. Suddenly a guard was running at me, I pushed Mr. Red out of the way, he fell to the floor hard. It looked like the guard was going to punch me so I grabbed his wrist, but then a knife came out of his sleeve. What was that? I punched him with my other hand and he stumbled back. I saw a wooden panel leaning against the planter. I picked that up and hit the guard across the face so hard the panel broke. I supposed that did it. I looked at the guard’s wrist, it was hidden blade. I took it from him and strapped it onto my own wrist.

I didn’t know how to work it, I remembered he flicked his wrist up and the blade came out. I did the same and the blade flicked out. I looked at the spot I knocked Mr. Red over, he was gone and Duke was getting out of the planter. “So there was a bounty on my head?” Duke asked. “Yeah, I thought I told you that.” I flicked my wrist again and saw the knife pop out. I put the knife back in the glove and saw Kris get up and look at me. “Oh what’s that?” Kris tripped off the planter and looked at my hidden blade. “I have the slightest idea. But I do know it was built to kill an assassin.” I put the blade away and covered it with my sleeve. “Now, all you have to do is follow my lead. We have to get to my room to get to my weapons cache.” I told them. Kris nodded happily and Duke nodded once and folded his arms. “I hope you two can climb.” I looked up at the castle of a building. “I think I’ll fight my way up the stairs.” Duke grunted. “Are you sure?” I asked. “Yeah, if I can take down a hoard of Ghosts on my own I think I can take down these…” Duke looked at Kris. “Don’t you even dare finish that remark.” Kris growled. Duke raised an eyebrow as four guards surrounded us. Duke took out his rifle and aimed at one of the guard’s heads, he pulled the trigger and…nothing. “What?” Duke gasped. Kris looked around franticly, she then looked at one of the guards and at me.
