I sit beside Tanith, she told me and I couldn't hold the tears. She is NOT doing this to me. I just I hope to god she's okay because when she stresses she skates a lot and doesn't stop for hours not even for a snack I don't want her to where herself out.
"When's the fastest flight I can get? Will you come with me?" I ask Tanith.
"Thursday and of course. This made you realize your feelings didn't it? " Tanith says. " this isn't the time Tanith. WHY THE HELL DID SHE LEAVE ANYWAY!! This isn't how it's supposed to be! I can never forgive her for this. When I see her I'm going to tell her I never want to see her or skate with her again! I hate her! "
That wasn't the truth though and Tanith knew that in the bottom of her heart. She knew Meryl and Charlie were soul mates and soul mates always find there way to each other.
(Que awkward POV change to meryls)
I go to my local rink.
It's different without Charlie. I can't seem to land any of my jumps and I continuously fall. I don't know why but all that's on my mind is Charlie. And with my luck I get the news that he is coming in a few days. It's Tanith's fault that he is coming. I'm trying to keep us both safe why can't he understand that. I hope he hates me, it'll be easier to pretend he doesn't exist if he hates me. I make plans to go somewhere to hide when he comes, pretend I'm non existent. Maybe like a flower, or a spec of pollen in the warm summer air. My mother walks into the rink.
"Tanith is on the phone for you." She says almost cautiously.
"Hello?" I question Tanith.
" Meryl, I can't let you do this to Charlie we will find you. Your tearing him apart by doing this. He thinks he hates you. He doesn't sleep. He's worried sick about you, Meryl. Your mom said you are never home your scaring everyone Meryl. We will be there in a few days." Tanith speaks with slight anger and concern in her voice.
"Good. I'm glad he hates me. I'm happy hiding all I have is skating and that's all I need. Don't bother looking for me when you come. You won't find me. I'm almost positive. " I reply.
"At least message Charlie back." I notice I have 1,000 unread messages from Charlie.
"I'll think about it. Bye Tanith." I say with sorrow seeping into my voice. "Goodbye, Meryl. " I hang up the phone and hand it to my mom. She doesn't have to say anything. She just hugs me and let's me get skating again.
