Soul Mates

Meryl lays her head on Charlie's chest and smiles.

"You know sooner or later the families have to know we are together." Meryl begins.

"Yeah, will tell them. Eventually" Charlie says as Cheryl, Meryl's mother, walked in.

"Meryl, Charlie I brought up breakfast." Cheryl puts the food on Meryl's night stand table. "Thank you." Charlie and Meryl say in unison.

"Tessa is here." Tessa smiles at them.

"Scott's training. But guys, are you doing Marina's gala? " Tessa asks them. "Umm. Of course we will." Charlie says calmly, and a bit disappointed they were just now being asked. 

"Can't wait! Gracie's doing it as well. meryl, I am glad you are okay. Charie told us! Charlie be good to her! Oh Scott needs me back bye." Tessa speaks to them in her normal cheerful manner. It was actually weird for Meryl and Charlie because tessa never has unexpected visits.

"Looks like we get to skate more than recreationally again." Meryl says smiling at the boyish charm Charlie has when he smiles at her. Charlie kisses her forehead. 

"At dinner we will tell them?" Charlie says and Meryl nods. Charlie pulls the breakfast plate an sets one on Meryl's lap and they eat.

"I'm being selfish. But it feels so right to want to be the love of your life and you be mine. It took me seventeen years to figure this out. I couldn't be happier with my decisions." Charlie says to Meryl kissing her gently. They walk downstairs to clean up there dishes an run into Clayton. At first the try to avoid questions but it's a fail.

"So, are you guys a thing now?" Clayton says. Meryl and Charlie shy away. "I just want to her you say it. It's obvious. The new way you and my sister press together shows it all. And I know you'll be holding hands under the table later tonight."

"We are a thing but we are taking it one step at a time." Meryl says looking lovingly into Charlie's eyes.

"One day at a time." Charlie replies.

"It may take us forever. And I am okay with that as long as my forever is with you." Meryl says and Charlie caresses Meryl's cheek. Charlie pulls her in to a kiss and picks her up and spins her.

"Meryl Davis you are beautiful and I love you." Charlie says in a whisper. "I love you too." Meryl replies.

Marina and Tanith were correct when they said soul mates will always find each other. It may take 17 years but they will find each other.

Sad to say this is the end! But, soon (maybe today or tomorrow) I will be posting my new fanfiction "trick of fate"
