Is This Really Happening?

Chapter 9

I woke up to my alarm and didn't want to get up. I didn't get much sleep the night before but I finally pulled myself out of bed. After I got ready I went downstairs and had some breakfast.

"Ok ready for school?" I asked Isabel and Ben.

"Yes" Ben and Isabel said in sync.

I dropped off Isabel at the middle school and then Ben and I arrived at the local high school. We walked in the doors and every ones eyes were suddenly glued on us.

"Is it just me or is everyone staring?" I whispered to Ben.

"No its not just you everyone is staring. Its kind of creepy." He admitted.

One girl walked straight up to me, "Hi my names Edith, you must be the new kids." she said.

"Umm yeah, nice to meet you. I'm Natalie and this is Ben."

"Welcome Natalie and Ben to our high school! What grades are you in?" 

"Im in grade ten and shes in grade twelve." Ben said.

"Awesome I'm in grade twelve also." Edith said. She waved over to some girls who looked like twins. "Sarah, Ashley, over here!" she shouted across the hall.

Everyone at this school was dressed so nicely. It didnt look like a public school at all but rather a rich private school.

"Hey Edith!" they both said in unison.

"Sarah, Ashley, this is Natalie and Ben, they're new"

"Hi nice to meet you guys." Ashley said.

We talked for a few minutes and then two other girls walked up to me.

"O my gosh! Your Harry Styles girlfriend" One of the girls shouted and everyone in the halls turned and stared at us. "My names Abigail, I'm a huge fan of One Direction! Your so lucky to be dating him! Oh and this is my friend Caitlyn.

"Abigail don't be annoying." Edith said. "This is my sister by the way."

"Well its nice to meet you Abigail and Caitlyn but I got to go to class now" I said.

"So want me to show you your class? Abigail take Ben to his class he's in grade ten as well."

"Sure" I said as we started walking down the hall.

It was lunch time and I got my food and was looking around for somewhere to sit. "Hey over here!" Edith shouted across the room.

"Thanks for letting me sit here. Hi Ashley and Sarah."

"Hey" Ashley and Sarah both said.

"Oh yeah no problem. So tell us about yourself" Edith said.

"Well I moved here from the US in June because my dad got offered a really good job here-"

"Hey Natalie! Whats up?" Abigail said as she slid into the seat next to me.

"Oh nothing just eating some lunch" I replied to Abigail.

"Caitlyn, Katie over here!" Abigail yelled. "This is Katie and you already met Caitlyn."

I saw Ben apear and he stoos at the end of the table. "Hey guys, do you mind if I sit here?"

"No of course not" Caitlyn said. Ben slid into the seat next to her and she moved a little closer to  him.

Edith leaned over and whispered in my ear, "looks like someone's got a crush on your brother."

Lunch was a little overwhelming but we had some good conversations. I was happy to have already made some new friend my first day, but there were a few random girls that followed me around and kept asking me about Harry. Abigail and her two friend were all huge fans of the boys and a little obsessed with them but they were still sweet and I told them I would take them to meet One Direction.

After school I went home and called Harry. I told him how my day went and he told me how his day was.

"So I was thinking Saturday you could come down to the studio with us" he said.

I didnt even have to think about it. I responded immediately,"Yeah, that sounds like fun. So I'll get a sneak peak of the new music?" I ask curiously.

"Yeah I want you to hear one of the songs." he said.

The week went by slowly but luckily we only had 3 days of school this week because our first day was a Wednesday. It was Friday and I already asked Harry if I could bring a couple of friends to meet the boys. I also told him that they were really big fans. He told me it was no problem.

After school on Friday I took Edith, Abigail, Caitlyn and Katie to meet One Direction. We met them at a park downtown. When we arrived there we walked over and I introduced them all to the boys. When I introduced Niall to Edith I saw a hint of sparkle in his eyes. I could tell that he thought Edith was special. I saw the same thing in her eyes. They had hit it off from the beginning. After a little while it was time for the boys to go rehearse. Niall asked for Edith's number and she gladly gave it to him.

On the other hand the three girls were fangirling just a bit, but it wasn't to bad. After the boys left I drove Edith, Abigail, Caitlyn and Katie home. On the way home we talked about the boys.

"So whats up with you and Niall?" I asked curiously.

"I don't really know" she said shyly, "He was really cute when we were talking and I think he likes me!"

"Oh thats so great! I could tell that when you met him. I have never seen that expression on his face before, he was really happy." I told her.

"You think? Well he did ask me to hang out sometime..." she blushed.

"I think you guys would make a cute couple." I admitted to her.

I dropped both Caitlyn and Katie off at their house and Abigail and Edith off at their house.

I walked inside my house and plopped down on the couch. I turned on the TV and scrolled through the channels. There was nothing special on so I went up to bed.
