Here's a random story from when I was 15.
"Ok, now we know not to do that." Webby said calmly.
"Webs?" I asked, trying to give her a reality check.
"That's one more thing to add to my adventure guide." She continued.
"Webby." I said dryly.
"Good job us!" She cheered.
"Webbigail!!!" I yelled.
"What?" She asked, finally acknowledging me.
"I don't know about you," I started. "but I don't really consider HANGING FROM A CLIFF to be a 'good job'!" She looked up at me, a difficult task, seeing as I was holding her by the ankle to keep her from falling.
"Oh, we're fine." She said simply.
"You're upside down!" I exclaimed. "And you know I don't have the upper body strength to hold onto this fucking rock forever!"
"Don't worry, Scrooge'll find us." She reassured me.
"You dropped your backpack with your radio in it, fuckin' Hubert took mine when I pretended I'd lost it, and that's the only way we have of contacting them!" I listed. "How is he going to find us?!"
"Um... because the plot said so?" Webby asked weakly.
"Life isn't a cartoon Webby!" I yelled. "We're about to actually fucking die!" She was about to reply, when my hand slipped by at least and inch down the ledge I was holding. "Shit!" I muttered quickly, trying to scan the wall of rock for some way down- other than gravity that is- but nothing. I groaned. "This is why you don't chase butterflies by the cliff side Webby!"
"It was a moth!" She corrected me. "An incredibly endangered, thought to be extinct moth!"
"Still, if I hadn't noticed you running away from everyone else, you'd be all the way down there, swept up by the river!" I shot back.
"Well-" She started, before my hand slid down another inch.
"Damn it!" I yelled. Welp, this was it. Goodbye world, hated you too.
"Louie, let go!" Webby yelled up to me.
"Wait, what?" I asked, looking down at her.
"Let go!" She repeated. I stared at her for a solid 10 seconds.
"Are you fucking insane?!" I asked eventually.
"Just trust me!" She replied.
"Why?!" I asked. I was starting to think she'd hit her head or something.
"Lou, just trust me!" She said again. "Please!"I sighed rolling my eyes.
"Stupid nickname." I muttered. Whenever she called me 'Lou', I couldn't say no, or lie to her, or any of that. And she knew it. So, reluctantly, I listened. I let go of the ledge, and we both fell. I, like any normal person, screamed like I was going to die. Because I thought I was. But then, Webby grabbed something off a passing branch: her backpack! She dug in it for a second, then pulled out her grappling hook, grabbed my arm, and shot it up to the top of the cliff, where it hooked on a big tree. And right before we hit the water beneath us, it started recoiling, pulling us back up to the top.
I layed on the ground at the top for a minute, trying to stop breathing so heavily, while Webby put her grappling hook back in her bag. "Well, that's done." She said simply. "Come on Louie." Then she started walking the direction Scrooge and my brothers had gone. I sat up and looked at her for a second.
"Webby?" I called. She turned back.
"What?" She asked. I smiled, still trying to steady my breath.
"You're fucking amazing." I laughed. She laughed too, bowing slightly.
"I try." She replied. "Now hurry up!" I got up and followed her as we went to catch up with the group.
Hey! Been a while, huh?
Fortunately, now that band season is finally almost over, I'll probably be able to get back into this!
Summer vacation starts soon too, so that'll give me more time.
Question, I heard in the USA they end school in May and start in August, is that true? That's crazy!
Here in good ol' Canada, we end in June and start in September.
Wonder why.
Anyways, bye!!!
