My older sister was going out with her friends one evening. I was sitting upstairs in my room looking at my phone as I had finished my homework. My sister, Maya, was finishing high school soon, so she wanted to spend as much time with her friends as possible. Her friends were always so loud and crude whenever they came to visit. I don't know why Mom hasn't banned them from coming over.

''Mom! I'm going out!'' Maya yelled into the kitchen.

''Don't  be long dear, your curfew is ten o' clock!'' My mom yelled back.

I then heard my sister rushing up the stairs I prayed she wasn't coming into my room. But sadly, I was wrong. She burst in with a smirk on her face.

''Hey Mike! How's about you come out with me and my friends?'' She asked me.

''Are you kidding me? It's like eight o' clock. I don't trust the town at this time.'' I replied.

''Oh come on!'' She laughed. ''Me and the guys are going to visit the old asylum on Crux Hill.''

I froze, and looked away from my phone up at my sister.

For those who don't know the legend of Crux Hill, there was an asylum up there, (obviously) the patients there were incredibly violent. I think it was first built in 1994, but anyway the patients were incredibly violent and one of the patients had a huge breakdown on April 9th in 1998 and murdered everyone in the asylum, along with the staff who lived there. He hung himself after.

''That horrible place? Yeah, no. Count me out.'' I scoffed.

''If you don't go, I'll tell Mom you cheated on your history test.'' Maya replied.

I groaned out of annoyance, and put my phone down, I sat up on my bed and looked at my sister.

''Fine I'll go. But we're not going inside.'' I said.

''Yes okay! Let's go!'' Maya said, dragging me out of my room.

We walked to the end of the neighbourhood and met Maya's friends there. I was pretty nervous, her friends always freak me out. But I just shrugged it off.

Jake, one of Maya's friends, took his Dad's car and drove us up there.

Once there I looked out the window to see the asylum. It looked horrible.

Though it seems in good enough condition, it is a lot more terrifying inside

Though it seems in good enough condition, it is a lot more terrifying inside. Maya and her friends started walking towards the entrance. I was still sitting in the car watching them. I got pretty pissed off when I saw them walking into the asylum, as Maya had promised she wouldn't go in.

I burst out of the car and sprinted towards the entrance. They left the door wide open and disappeared into the dark halls before I couldn't see them anymore. I yelled for them but to no answer. I looked at my watch.

I then looked back at the car. I could barely see it. It was so dark. I looked back at the open asylum doors. I brushed my hands through my black hair and began walking down the halls. The walk slowly turned into a fast walk. Then a run. Then a sprint.

I rushed around the corner still calling for my sister and her friends, but to no avail. My head started to panic as I rushed up the stairs to the next floor hoping they'd be up there. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard a voice.

''I'm Mike.''

I turned around, my name was Mike. Who could be here?

I saw me. Another me at the end of the hallway, staring back at me darkly. He just stood there.

I felt myself almost throw up. The other me slowly turned around and walked in the darkness.

I started to back away slowly.... when someone wrapped their hand around my mouth. I tried to pry free and luckily I succeeded. I rushed down the hallways as I heard whispering all around me. I then saw my sister and her friends at the end of the dark hallway.

''MAYA! WE NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!!!'' I shouted down to them.

They were standing with their backs turned to me. When they turned around they all had the faces the old asylum patients. They slowly started walking towards me.

I screamed and began to run back down the hallways. I ran back down the stairs and saw that the doors were still open, I sprinted towards them.

I was almost there until everything around me turned to black....

I woke up in my padded room, screaming and screaming when I realised I was no longer a young boy. The nurses rushed in to aid me. I was the most violent patient in the asylum. There was a glass window which connected my room with two men in suits watching the nurses aid me.

I was lucky I could read lips...

''Jesus Christ George, who is this guy?'' One of them asked.

The other handed him a file.

''This is Mike Donoven, our most violent patient. He murdered his whole family not long after this place opened. The police sent him here to get the treatment he needs.'' He said. ''He suffers from lucid and realistic dreams. He almost believes he's still a child.''

''Well you've really outdone yourself with this guy George.'' The other man said.

As I continued to look through the window, I could see a calendar....

April 9th, 1998....
