Chapter 43: Is This It?

Renesmee POV:

It seems like after Jake and I celebrated our wedding anniversary, I had a lot of planning to do. Not that I minded doing the planning, of course, it is mostly for my kids. Chloe's first birthday would be May 10th and Aria would be six months old on the fourteenth. So I had two parties to plan for which I decided would be on two different weekends so I wouldn't overwhelm myself.

My kids were growing like weeds. Jay sped past looking like a three year old and is looking more and more like a little boy by the day. He pretty much lost all that sweet and adorable baby cushion and truly turned into a mini Jacob. My little primadonna girl was looking more like a two year old by the day, her hair were in silky waves past her shoulders and she continues to amaze us everyday. My baby girl did the most growing though. When she started to crawl it was hard to keep track of her since she went so fast. She was starting to stand up on her own but not walking quite yet. She knew a few words, like 'Mama', 'Dada', 'Dink', and 'me too'. It was beyond adorable and I couldn't wait to see her little personality grow more.

All these milestones only made me miss the days when they were little and weren't moving around as much. Jake and I have been trying to conceive but we haven't had any luck. It was hard seeing the negative lines on the pregnancy tests but I knew that fate would decide whether or not Jacob and I would continue to grow our family. So I told myself that I'd make the best with the family I am so lucky to have. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world and I knew that we weren't done with having kids quite yet.

Today, Rachel and the twins would be coming by while Paul is at work. Summer, Sahara, and Chloe were the best of friends. They all pretty much enjoyed the same things; singing, dancing, and princesses. Sometimes they'd get into little tiffs but I'm glad my little girl had someone to play with. Unfortunately for her, Aria wasn't very interested in Barbies or anything girly. I think I've got a little tomboy in my hands. Aria seemed happiest playing in the mud with her big brother. Bathtime wasn't very pleasant but it was so worth the little shrills of glee I'd hear from my youngest.

"Ness, do you think you can make that bacon spinach pesto pasta for dinner tonight? I really liked it the last time you made it." Jake said as he came through the door.

He looked so good in his white tee and dark blue jeans. He had been working on Dad's Volvo in the garage I had made for him last Christmas. The little beads of sweat on his forehead and the way his muscles looked in his shirt was certainly stirring things in me. It really should be illegal looking that damn good. If this is what all the women see at Jake's old workplace then I'm glad he resigned so I can keep this sight all to myself.

"Like what you see?" Jake shined those perfectly white teeth at me.

I shook my blush away and tucked some hair behind my ear, "Hush.. Yeah, I'll make that tonight."

He crossed the room to me and lifted my chin up for a far too short kiss, "I like how I'm able to still do that to you."

I smiled and shrugged a little, "Don't start something you can't finish."

"Oh, I intend to finish tonight." he gave me a wink.

My ears perked up when I heard Rachel's car come up in the driveway. The twins were so excited and it was just the cutest. I called Jay and Chloe into the room so they could greet their cousins and peeped in on Aria who was asleep in the nursery. Jake answered the door for his sister and nieces.
