Prologue

You were small and quite frail. Your family has always been your back bone they took care of you and you were happy. Your father was a strong man who stood by your side and was your brick wall against the cruel world.

Most of your days were spent with your dad, playing in the garden or coming along with him on his hunting trips. Everything was perfect.

Until the war came.

Your dad was swooped out of your cozy house and into the battlefield. It tore you apart when you were without you. Your mother tried comforting you but it just didn’t feel right. There was a hole in your heart.

For years you wrote but no answer came, until you just gave up. You no longer wept nor did you wallow in pity you just waited.

You had grown stronger you were ready for anything. The hunting trips that you had once done with your father, was now something you preferred to do on your own. You no longer needed the assistance that you once ached for. You were strong an you were independent.

One day the army men had came with nothing but a red, white and blue flag in there hands. You felt sad tears well up in your stoic eyes as you hesitantly took the flag, saluting them as they left you there to silently sob.

You had lost someone who meant the world to you. A wave of pain an anger crashed over you as you dropped to your knees and let yourself go. Your facade could no longer hide the stabbing pain that was your loss.
