So irritated I was with being trapped in my house
that I decided to step out and taste a refreshing sip of life
I willed myself up, up into the air
and onto the roof of my ramshackle home
I could see houses stretching away in every direction,
welcome to the freak known as suburbia...
how annoying it is, to see the lack of individuality
amongst each and every one of these blasted gray houses
But that is not my goal at this time,
during my stay in this other dimension
I intend to explore freely this dismal nieghborhood
without being restricted by ridiculous earthly problems
I jump from black roof to black roof, taking in
several bleak granite statues, not a speck of green
in each and every backyard I pass
what is wrong with humanity here?
Oh, how I remember the good times
when you could see different shades of every color
on houses you past by in your race
to get your foolish necessities taken care of...
What an utter shame that society is like this
I think to myself as I fly over the boring roofs of the 'hood
and crossing over into...my school
oh dear, the surprises I witnessed...
Renovation, no, merging with the main stream
that is what's happening in front of me
as the school colors, midnight blue and grass green
are replaced by the same gloomy gray as everything else
Vermin, that is what the government has become!
They wanted to take away the colors of life
and what happened next...for shame...
the citizens allowed them to do so
And now, here I stay, trapped in my broiling negativity
seething as I wish I could reverse the sands of time
to the period of my life when I could actually see the rainbow,
instead of hoping in vain that it would return to my life...
