Stacy
Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
I wasn't alone, though I always felt otherwise. I had hitched a ride in Bryce's car, and with him I arrived at the hospital, accompanied by Sophia's friends: Cole, Matt, Emily, and Spencer.
Meanwhile, Lucas had driven his own car with Liam, which meant there were eight of us in total.
The door to the emergency suddenly swung open and out came the female doctor. She was of average height, with her black hair in a high bun, her face was bare, and she wore a white coat.
Dr. Sanchez, according to her nameplate, looked at our worried, expectant faces, then she asked:
"Which one of you is related to the patient?"
I stood up from the cold bench and stared at the doctor. "Me. I'm her sister."
The dark-haired woman nodded her head. If she was skeptical about how a blue-eyed blonde was related to a brown-eyed brunette, she didn't show it.
"I see." She glanced at her clipboard for a moment. "Miss Sophia is fine. Her vitals are normal. But her blood pressure is low and that's possibly why she became lightheaded and fainted. It's also probable that she suffered heart palpitations or fatigue. She'll need to undergo several tests just to make sure what caused it. We'll transfer her to the appropriate room for observation. Kindly fill out the form for the admission of the patient," said the doctor before handing me a thin bundle of papers and a pen.
She then disappeared into the emergency room before I could even react.
Liam
"I'll go ahead and fill out the form. You guys stay here." Stacy's sky blue eyes were clouded as she clutched the papers in her hands while finding a table to properly answer the form on.
Lucas, being her reliable boyfriend, rose from the bench to follow her.
Cole and Matthew called out to Stacy. The former said to the dazed blonde: "Ace, Matt and I will head over to your house to inform your parents about this."
Matt nodded. "We'll also bring Sophia's bag and other things there."
"Thanks," replied Stacy, a grateful smile across her lips.
Emily and Spencer got up from the bench as well. The latter said to Stacy: "Em and I will buy some food for everyone so when Sop wakes up, we'll have something to eat."
"Thanks," the blonde said once more.
Stacy and Lucas sat down at a table nearby while Emily and Spencer stalked over to the hospital's cafeteria downstairs.
Cole and Matthew climbed into the elevator, vanishing from my view.
I raked my fingers through my dark blond hair while my other hand thrust inside my pocket.
"Mr. Liam Garcia?" called a woman's voice behind me.
Craning my neck, I looked over my shoulder to see Dr. Sanchez standing by the door of the ER.
"How may I help you, doc?" I politely asked her.
She made a hand motion as if to say 'come in, come in.'
I stepped inside the emergency room with a mask covering the lower half of my face. I seldom find myself inside a hospital, but my parents strictly remind me to don a mask whenever I do.
"Miss Sophia specifically requested your presence," stated the doctor as she ushered me inside.
My heartbeat became erratic, not from love but from nervousness--Ever since I met her in high school four years ago, I'd come to know that Sophia was more fragile than most girls. Both emotionally and physically, she was a delicate person. I sometimes witnessed how easily she grew tired, how often she passed out from overdoing it in her studies, family, and social life.
