Friday Morning
"Ugh," I say hearing my phone ring on my bedside nightstand. "Hello," I said though it was barely audible.
"Hey, Rach" Vanessa voice came in through the phone. I mentally rolled my eyes at how early she called me, but then again it wasn't that early, considering my alarm did go off before she called me.
"Hey, Nessa," I say rubbing my tired eyes. "What's up?"
"Ok so, since it's Friday and we have two free periods. I say we go to Coney Island for a while"
"Really?" I asked her with uncertainty in my voice, as I got out of bed. "I don't know. It seems too risky"
"Oh will you just chill, Rach," she tells me. I could picture her rolling her eyes at the end. "We won't be gone for that long and I need a tan"
"Why do I have to come with you?" I asked putting her on speaker, already looking for an outfit.
"Because you're my best friend" she simply tells me with confidence. "And I don't wanna be at the beach alone with no one to talk to"
"Ok, I'll come," I say finding the perfect outfit. "But Simon is coming as well," I tell her.
"Does he have to?" she questioned me.
Although Simon and I are friends, it doesn't mean he and Vanessa are. She tolerates him because he's a friend of mine, but if he wasn't then no doubt about it, she would destroy him, ending the man's whole college career, just for shits and giggles.
"Nessa" I warned her. I heard a small huff before she answered.
"Fine, but keep him away from me"
"Trust me, I will," I say taking my phone off speaker and putting it up to my ear. "Ok, I'll be ready in about twenty minutes, so that should be enough time for you as well"
"Yup, that's perfect for me"
"And I'll just tell Simon to meet us there" I then say.
"Whatever," she says with a bored tone. "I'll see you in a few" and with that, she hung up.
After she hung I then called Simon, telling him about Vanessa's little plan. He was hesitant at first because he didn't want to impose on her.
It took a little convincing, but he finally gave in. After I did my morning routine, minus the shower since I took one the night before, I got dressed, then made my way to the kitchen.
"Good Morning, Miss Rachel" one of my maids, whose name I believe is Eva, says to me as she went upstairs. I only smiled in return.
"Ahh, Good Morning, Miss Rachel" Sebastian greets me with a cup of coffee as I came into the kitchen.
"Morning," I say taking the cup from him.
I gave him a weird noticing how he's humming a happy tune.
"Who or what put you in such a happy mood?" I questioned him, placing my drink down.
"What are you talking about?" he says chopping up some bananas. "I'm always in a happy mood"
"Yes," I say knowing that. "But today it's showing"
"I'm just happy is all," he tells me with a charming smile.
"Oh, can we skip around this part and fast forward to you telling me why you're so happy?" I asked with a pleading look.
"Ok fine," he says putting down the knife. "Now it's still new and everything, but I met this woman a few days back at the supermarket"
