Wednesday Morning

"Ugh" I groaned reaching over to my nightstand to grab my phone since it was ringing. "What?!"

"Well good morning to you too, baby" Ashley voiced sounded.

Instantly I sat upright in my bed upon hearing her voice. Even though she couldn't see me, I pulled my messy bun into a messy ponytail, before speaking.

"Hey baby, I'm so sorry I didn't look at the caller ID on my phone," I tell her.

"Eh it's fine," she tells me. "So where were you yesterday? When I came by your house your butler tells me you were out"

"Oh yea, um I went to the carnival-"

"Without me?" I could tell she was pouting, which made a smile creep onto my face. "Wait there was no carnival in town"

"Haha, the guys and I went to this abandoned one with Rachel and her friends," I say getting out of bed.

"Whatever," she says with a bored tone. "Wait who the hell is Rachel? You don't have any friends named Rachel" she says with a bit of confusion in her voice now.

"Met her at the beach a few days back. She was with me when you ran into me at the mall that day" I explained to her as I went to my bathroom.

"Mhm"

"What?"

"Nothing"

"Ash-"

"Are you still dressing up for me?"

"What?" I asked confused as I put my toothbrush under the water before putting the toothpaste on my toothbrush.

"To win me back are you still dressing girly or did you go back to your old boyish ways?" she asked with her bored tone returning.

"Yea of course I'm still dressing up for you," I say without any hesitation spitting out the mouthwash. "But eventually can't I go back to wearing what makes me comfortable? even if it looks boyish?"

"Ew no, of course not" she answers with so much disgust in her tone. "Those clothes make you look like a freak, baby..and I mean that in the nicest way possible"

"..Half of those clothes are my Dad's," I say now feeling somewhat sad because all of my memories of him are flooding back. "It's all I have to remember him by. You know that baby-"

"I know, I know," she says with an annoyed huffed at the end of her sentence indicating she's now getting annoyed at me. "It's the same story over and over again. But look you can keep the clothes without actually wearing them-"

"But-"

"But if you want us to get back together then you're gonna have to start dressing the part of being a girl, sweetie"

"..I know, I am," I say now not feeling good. "Rachel is helping me with looking girly..sort of"

"Whatever that means. Look, I gotta go, class is about to start, but love you"

Before I could say anything else, she hung up her phone.

"I love you too," I say to the black screen that is my phone before throwing it to the side.

I then went over to my closet trying to figure out what to wear.

"I don't see how girls do this crap every day!" I say in annoyance looking at all my clothes.

After about another 20 minutes of wondering what to wear, I kept it simple. I just threw on a white crop top with some Adidas joggers paired with some white low top shoes and my new black purse/bag.
