I don't think I have ever been more relieved that it's the end of a Friday, it's not peaceful on the bus but I am nearly at my stop, so I'll live. I walk through the front door of my house and to my surprise mum was there waiting for me. "Jasmine my favorite child," mum only ever speaks in a sweat tone when she needs something. "Mum what do you want," I try to sound as nice as I can but I kind of just want to go to my room.

"well I'm having some friends over tonight from the modelling agency and seeing as you and your sister are the only ones who can cook without burning this house down I need you to make dinner."

Well I am in the mood for cooking I guess, "OK, I guess."

"Thank you," mum grabs me into a hug and walks off calling for dad. I walk up to my sister's room seeing as she has to help. "Rose are you in there," the door swings open and I see my sister doing her hair up in a subtle way. "Are you feeling OK?" Rose was a sporty person, she liked to wear a top and jeans and usually just leaves her hair down, except for when she's playing sport.

"Shut up, mum said I had to look nice because this was a formal dinner and the most I'm going to do for formal is my hair." I just laugh feeling sorry for her because formal was not her in her vocabulary. " Here let me fix your hair," my sister and I always cover for each other when we do something wrong or when we want to go somewhere, most siblings bicker but we don't.

"Thanks, we should probably start cooking," I nod and run-down stairs. Cooking with my sister was fun but as usual Rose burnt her finger, mum walks in and gives me a funny look. "When I say it's a formal dinner it means put on a dress and make yourself look nice," I realise mums talking to me and go and get changed whilst Rose finishes dinner. I brush my long thick light brown hair with golden tips and decide to leave it out, after what seems like forever I finally choose a short white dress.

I run down stairs and the doorbell goes off, "I'll get it," I shout. I can hear mum yelling at Rose for not looking formal enough whilst I walk to the door. Once I open the door I look behind me to see Rose running upstairs, "Rosetta Clarice Filly, come back now!" I laugh to myself forgetting about the people waiting at the door.

"You find that amusing," I look at the front door, "Mason, what are you doing here?" I look to the right of Mason and I see Kaleb, "and Kaleb.

"Both of our families are here for dinner, what exactly are you doing here?"

"I live here, dick," Kaleb starts laughing.

"I've heard people call you lots of things, but dick is new."

"Kaleb," I  hear a woman say, "Language."

"Sorry Ma." I can see Mason trying to hold back a laugh and so am I. She steps inside along with another woman who I guess is Masons mother and another little girl about five or six.

"Hello love," the woman I think is Kaleb's mum comes up to me and gives me a hug. "You must be Jasmine." I just smile politely, not knowing what to say. "Oh, and you must be Rosetta," I turn around and see Rose walk into the hallway which is now getting squishy. "You can call me Rose," she smiles politely just like I did.

"My name is Gale, and this is Aubrey Masons mother."

"it's nice to meet you both," Aubrey says. Dad comes in to the hallway, dad shows Kaleb and Mason's parents somewhere other than the living room and I have to take the kids to watch a movie or something so it's not awkward.

I notice the young five-year-old looks up at Mason worryingly, Mason gives her a reassuring grin. I bend down to her height, "hello there," I try to sound as sweat as I can, so I don't scare her, "what's your name?"

The little girl smiles at me and says with pride, " My name is Ava."

"well Ava would you like to come and watch a movie with me?" Ava nods slightly. I stand up and Ava takes my hand, I look at Mason who is just smiling at me. I don't think I've seen him smile like that before. "Are you both coming or what," Kaleb and Mason just look at each other and follow me to the living room.

Rose is already in the living room hanging upside down on a chair, which means I have to squeeze on a three-person chair with Mason, Kaleb and Ava. "What do you guys want to watch, keeping in mind there is a five-year-old in the room."

"Disney," Ava shouts, which is really cute.

"Yeah, I'll watch a Disney movie," Mason just shrugs.

"I'm sorry i think I misheard you, two boys from the football team want to watch a Disney movie." I laugh quietly to myself as I pick out a Disney movie. Mason walks up to me looking at what movie I've got in my hand.

"Is frozen all right," I question Mason not knowing if he actually likes Disney.

"Yeah, by the way, I didn't know you were so good with kids," I look up at Mason, "I guess you're more than just a pretty face." I turn my head away as quickly as I could so Mason couldn't see my cheeks going red, but that obviously didn't work seeing as Mason was smiling at me.

I walk back to the chair and let Ava sit on my lap, so Kaleb and Mason could sit on the couch as well. I was surprised about how much boys actually like Disney movies, they were even singing along. Mum enters the room and calls us all for dinner, the adults sat in the living room to eat, and the kids sat in the kitchen.

It was quiet for most of the time until Kaleb decided to say something. "So, thanks again for agreeing to tutor me." Kaleb smiles at me

"No problem, I wasn't going to say no to teaching you my amazing skills."

Kaleb laughs and so do I for a bit. "Your tutoring Kaleb, alone?" Mason sounds a bit defensive.

"Yeah is something wrong with that," I question Mason who is clearly getting mad.

"Yeah, you could at least be doing a study group or something instead of being alone together." I've had it with Mason now.

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize you were my mother, I can do what I want when I want and you don't have any right to tell me otherwise."

"Whoa guys chill," Kaleb attempts to calm us down but I am furious. Kaleb and Masons parents walk into the room, "We're going now."

Kaleb walks past me thanking me again and Mason stops in front of me. "I'm sorry Juliet, I had no right to tell you what to do," Mason walks towards the door until I grab his hand. I lean in but not too close to Mason. "It's OK to be jealous, after all I will be alone with Kaleb and not you," I see Mason's cheeks go red as I turn and walk away towards my room. I look back to see Mason flustered, Karma's a bitch.
