Ahmad woke up feeling worn out, he looked at the clock and realized it was late in the afternoon. Picking up his boxers from the floor, he walked into the bathroom to shower, shave, and brush his teeth. After he tended to his hygiene, he returned to the bedroom to clean up and make the bed. He removed his new cell phone from the charger and checked to see if he had any missed calls from the three people that had his number."Where the hell is he?" Ahmad said out loud. He searched the apartment to see that he was in fact alone. He started to think about his current situation and his head began to throb. 'How could I really drop out of school and move out?' He thought. And then he began to think about Darius and his heart began to flutter, he figured it was worth it. He never felt this passionate about some one before, and the possibility of love captivated him.
Ahmad looked around his lavish bedroom and took it the benefits of living with Darius. He had a giant 4k television, a MAC laptop, a closet full of clothes with the tags still on them fresh off of 5th Ave, a plush California king, and a PS4. Darius was spoiling the shit out of him and he couldn't lie, Ahmad enjoyed it. The bedroom wasn't even the most elaborate room in the apartment, the living room and kitchen, as well as both bathrooms were lavish and plush beyond Ahmad's belief. It seemed like the minute Ahmad said he would move in with Darius that Ahmad was given a grand shopping spree.
But at the end of the day these were just materials, Ahmad wanted his man and he didn't like being alone in the new environment. He would have gone outside but Darius made him promise to stay put until he returned. But Ahmad was growing impatient, Darius had been gone since early morning when Ahmad fell back asleep. Ahmad called Darius's cell phone and was forwarded to voice mail. Five minutes later as he walked into the kitchen clad only in his boxers still holding the cell phone, it rang.
"Baby what up?" Darius asked after Ahmad answered.
"Where are you?" Ahmad asked looking in the fridge.
"I told your ass to chill out till I get back didn't I? I'm taking care of something and I'll be back soon aight?" Darius said in annoyed tone.
"But Darius-" Ahmad started to say.
"I don't got time for this Ahmad, I'll see you in a minute." Darius responded with finality and hung up.
Ahmad pouted as he put down his cell phone. His esteem was diminishing as he allowed Darius to have complete control over him and treat him however he wanted. But enough was enough for Ahmad. He decided he would shower, get dressed, and head outside. As he walked the streets of Harlem, he felt a little lost and hopeless. He didn't know the area to well, and felt stupid walking by himself. He decided to call Navarre to tell him he was alright.
"Bitch what the fuck is wrong with your stupid ass!" Navarre yelled into the phone the second he answered phone and heard Ahmad's voice.
"Damn, so I guess everyone knows huh?" Ahmad asked astounded that news has traveled that fast.
"You damn right! You think you could just run away and no one would fucking notice?" Navarre asked in a condescending tone.
"Calm down Navarre, I was just calling to let you know I was alright. I'm staying with a friend for a while." He lied.
"Friend my ass Ahmad! You staying with Darius, and I can't believe you dropped out of school! What the fuck is wrong with you?" Navarre fumed in a paternal voice.
"Ok you really need to calm down, and if you must know yes I am staying with him. You wouldn't understand anyway," Ahmad said feeling ridiculous. He didn't understand what he was doing either, it was all just one big sudden change.
