PLEASE READ:
Here are some information about the show that Ahn Jun Young himself (PD101/PD48 producer) said in the press conference from a while ago:
➸ "Regardless of nationality, 12 people will debut." This means it doesn't really matter how many Japanese and Korean trainees will be included in the final lineup (which was completely different from what was said before which was 6 Korean + 6 Japanese trainees). Thus, the final debut group may consist of 12 Japanese to 0 Koreans or vice versa - nationalities don't matter in the competition. (cr. girlsofpd48, OH_mes)
➸ Does this mean it's Korean vs Japanese now? - Technically, yes, the Korean and Japanese trainees will now be competing for 12 spots in the debut lineup (no more KOR vs KOR and JPN vs JPN only, it's gonna be mixed).
➸ Here's another catch: although the show will be simultaneously broadcasted both in Japan and Korea, the voting system will only take place in Korea - international fans and even Japanese fans cannot vote. (cr. girlsofpd48)
➸ As revealed in the previous weeks, the contract's length for the debuting group will be 2 years and 6 months. Will they be allowed to do other activities outside their PD48 debut group during this period of time? - There isn't any confirmation from Mnet yet, but it seems like they're currently discussing about this possibility. It may also be possible that they form sub-units in the future, but again no confirmation. We'll just see how it goes.
➸ Lastly, the show finally airs this Friday (15 June)! Remember that there will be a special "Prologue" episode at 6PM KST while the first actual episode airs at 11PM KST.
