The City - The 1975

That fateful night had changed Nathan and Nicole's relationship significantly. The unspoken barrier the pair had been tiptoeing around for weeks had finally begun to crumble. Throughout the following working week, the pair would stay on the phone for hours, discussing anything that came to mind. When Nicole couldn't talk, Nathan would send her texts, usually asking whether he could come over in the evening. He would bring food from his favourite places around London, and the two would end up sprawled out on the sofa watching a movie that one had claimed that the other needed to watch. Nathan spent the night at the house three times that week.

They had decided that their first date would be on the following Saturday. Nathan told Nicole to make sure her entire day was free. She had no idea what he had in store for her, but she knew that he had planned the day to the minute detail. Nathan wanted it to be a memorable day, something they would look back on in a few months and smile at, just like the night they spent on the terrace.

Eva knew something was going on between the two, but she couldn't figure out exactly what. She had no recollection of the night, and neither would tell her what had actually happened; Nathan would smile sheepishly when asked, while Nicole simply ignored the question.

Nathan had turned up to the house at nine o'clock sharp, dressed in a white button up shirt and dark navy jeans, a bouquet of sunflowers in hand; he knew Nicole would be ready by then because she got back from the gym at eight. Surely enough, his deduction was correct. Nicole opened the door seconds after he rung the bell, modelling a two piece navy striped romper. Her hair was curled, her midriff toned, her lashes lengthened, her legs bare.

'Give me a second, I just need to hang some laundry up.' She went to turn back, though Nathan grabbed her waist.

'Hey, hey, hey, no need to rush,' He pulled her into him so close his cologne tickled her nose. Their eyes flickered, their lips met. Nathan couldn't help but smile. 'We've got all the time in the world.'

The city seemed to be on their side that day; everything was going incredibly smoothly, considering the whole day revolved around London's main tourist attractions. Nathan had remembered the conversation him and Nicole had had the morning after Beck's birthday party. Nicole had admitted that she hadn't had time to visit the tourist attractions London had to offer. Nathan had planned to hit almost every landmark, from Big Ben to Piccadilly Circus.

They had started the day with a stroll through Hyde Park. Nathan had taken it as an opportunity to fill her in on their itinerary. 'You said you never got the chance to be a real tourist, so that's what we're doing today. We're going to spend way too much money on underwhelming experiences.' Nicole was beyond impressed; the only way she could express it was through the wide grin she wore.

The first real stop had been the Science Museum. They had spent the morning admiring astrological exhibition that was currently on display. Nathan had picked the Science Museum over the Natural History Museum as he thought it would be fun to learn more about the stars they had gazed at that night. Nicole was thoroughly enjoying the experience; hand in hand with Nathan, she guided them around the building, pointing out random facts that she found fascinating. They ended up at Buckingham Palace shortly after. They both admitted that it had been severely underwhelming, though they had managed to get a stranger to take a photo of them with the palace in the background like true tourists.

For lunch, they had stopped off at the Hard Rock Cafe. Knowing that, in true London fashion, there would be a ridiculous waiting time, Nathan had reserved them a table beforehand. Over overpriced burgers, Nathan asked Nicole a few questions he had been wanting to ask her for a while.
