"Hahaha, it seems as if Prince Charming isn't as charming as you thought, Melanie." Douglas laughs.
"You should have never met those robots with skin!" Mom says. "We wouldn't be here then!"
"They aren't robots! They have brains and hearts and they're completely human! And I'm glad that I met them! That meant I wouldn't have to spend all my free time home with you! If I had to, my life would be HELL!" I yell. Mom looks shocked and hurt, but I'm so mad right now I don't care.
"Melanie Ju-"
"DON'T! Do not 'Melanie Julia' me."
"Mellie, I-"
"Mom, I don't want to talk to you right now. Please, just let me be."
Chase's POV
Bree, Adam, Leo and Mr. Davenport drag me away from Douglas's, to Mr. Davenport's car.
"What are you guys doing? We can't leave them there! I need to get her OUT!" I yell.
"Chase, calm down. I think I know what Mr. Davenport is going to do." Bree says.
"Yeah. I can't believe I figured it out before you." Adam says. I shoot him a glare and sit down on the curb, resting my elbows on my knees and putting my face into my hands, rubbing my eyes.
"Don't worry, guys. People, even bionic people, sometimes can't concentrate as much as they should when someone they love is in danger." Mr. Davenport says. Bree turns to me.
"Do you love Mellie, Chase?"
I slowly look up at her. Do I love Mel? In a very quiet, strange voice, I say, "Yes. Of course I do. And that's why I need to do anything to get her away from Douglas."
"Don't worry, we will." Leo says.
We all look to Mr. Davenport. "I have a plan."
Mellie's POV
"Now, let's see what chores and odd jobs I will have you guys do first..." Douglas says, acting like he's deep in thought. He turns around to face us. "You." He points at me. "You are somewhat of a smart person, aren't you?"
"Yes. But I won't do anything for you. I'd rather die." I say, giving him the evilest glare I can muster up.
"That can be arranged." He says.
"Melanie, please stop talking to him. You are just making it worse." Mom says, surprisingly calm. Douglas walks over to her.
"Do you really care, my dear Donna?" He presses a button that releases her. Instead of rushing over to try and get me down like a good mother would, she stands next to Douglas, who puts an arm around her waist. Mom gives an evil laugh.
"I don't care. If we had crocodiles, dear Dougy, I'd tell you to feed her to them."
