"You're gonna blast me?" I say.
"Yes." Mom says. Ugh! I mean Donna! Douglas lets me out of wall trap and drags me to another. He straps me in, then walks over to my mother.
"Donna, this wasn't the plan. The plan was to get Adam, Bree and Chase." Douglas says.
"This isn't your plan. It's mine." She says.
"Ugh! It's Victor Krane all over again! Except he wasn't my girlfriend and he was bionic."
"Shut up, Douglas, or I'll put you in the blaster too." She says. She picks up a remote and points it at the blaster.
"BLASTER TO ENGAGE IN 60 SECONDS." The machine says. Great! In a minute I'm going to die.
BOOM!
The other wall that didn't get blasted by Leo and Davenport just got blasted by...well, Leo and Davenport. And Adam, Bree and Chase!
"What? Donald, I thought you were abandoning these two!" Douglas yells.
"Ha! You were wrong! I had a plan all along!" Mr. Davenport says.
"45 SECONDS." The machine says.
"CHASE! You have to get me out of here! And don't trust my mother! She's evil! She's working with Douglas! She's his girlfriend!"
"WHAT????" Donald, Leo, Adam, Bree and Chase say at the same time.
"There's no time to be surprised right now!" I yell.
"She's right." Chase says. They all nod at each other, as if they no exactly what to do. Bree grabs Adam and runs over to a giant metal thing that probably weighs several tons. Adam pushes it, crushing Douglas under it. He's crushed from the waist down. Adam then uses his laser vision to fry the circuit running the blaster.
"BLASTER DOOOOOWWN." It says, voice malfunctioning like the rest of it. Adam uses a blast wave, knocking my mom on the ground. Leo and Chase get me out of the blaster straps. Chase gives me a quick hug.
"You okay?"
"No. But I'll be fine." I say. He nods and I run towards Mr. Davenport. The blaster starts to squeal and spill smoke.
"It's gonna blow, guys!" Mr. Davenport says. We all grab part of Bree's arms and she runs to Mr. Davenport's car. Mr. Davenport drives like crazy. I turn around, squished between Chase and Leo. Douglas's lab blows up. I turn around, feeling extremely exhausted and like I'm gonna faint.
Chase takes my hand. "It's okay, Mellie. You're safe with us." I lean my head on his shoulder and drift to sleep.
