The Vans shoot ran late but I was pleased with how it turned out. My feet and back ached from being standing all day and in the back of my mind I did wonder how far into my pregnancy I'd be able to work, already I felt uncomfortable climbing a ladder or being laid on the ground. I loaded my last piece of equipment into the trunk of my VW Beetle and got into my car, calling Rem through the hands free as I started my car and pulled out of the lot.
"Hey baby, how was today?"
"It was great, really long day but the models were fab and the size of the production was impressive, I felt like Mario Testino. I am knackered though, I've been on my feet constantly for 14 hours"
"Oh baby you need to take care of yourself, I hope you've eaten?"
"Oh I have don't worry, catering was amazing, I ate loads. How was the show?"
"It was insane, we had a signing and when we went out to the tent there was the biggest line waiting for us I've ever seen. Literally, we were all like, are they waiting for us? A fan gave me the sweetest drawing of us too, it's really good, can't wait to show it to you"
"Aww, you have the cutest fans"
"So you feeling ok? How's my baby?"
"Yeah I feel great, 16 weeks today, the baby is the size of an avocado"
"That's insane, I still can't believe this"
"I know, right"
"So I have some news I wanted to talk to you about"
"Oh?"
"We've been asked to play at Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK this Summer"
"Are you fuckin' shitting me? Holy crap that's amazing!!"
"So you're happy for me to go, it's at the end of August so how far along will you be?"
"About 30 weeks I reckon, it should be fine"
"I really want you to come too, would be good to spend some time in London, you could see Dee, maybe even go visit your family?"
"Yeah maybe, I'll see"
"See about coming?
"No about my family, I definitely want to come. God I'm so excited! I used to go to that festival as a teenager, holds lots of good memories for me"
"Well drive safely baby ok? Call me when you're home, I think we're going to grab food food now, I'm so excited to come home baby, I miss you with all my heart"
"I miss you too, love you always"
"Love you forever"
We hung up and I drove the rest of the way home listening to Arctic Monkeys and reminiscing about Leeds fest in 2006.
