chapter 29: worlds apart

Theo's POV

"Nadine! Where did you go?" I went looking for her frantically. "Theo are you okay?" I turned to see that it was Kelly. "No. Have you seen Nadine?" She looked at me suspiciously. "What did you do now Theo?" I rolled my eyes at her. " I didn't do anything her daughter asked me earlier if I was heer father," Kelly looked at me surprised and upset. "That child really wants a father." I look at her confused. "What happened to her father?" Kelly looked at me as if she debating on whether or not to tell me about the situation. "Look it's not my place to talk about Nadine's life before you so if you want to know you need to talk to her." She said. "She's by the river." She tells me leaving to do whatever it was she was doing. I nodded and ran to see her crying."Carter why'd you leave me and Kira when we need you." I heard her scream out loud. "Carter I need you." I saw her cry and hold the necklace around her neck in her hands saying something I couldn't hear. "Nadine."I started to walk up to her. "Theo she needs some time alone." I agree and go to turn back to the house. "You can come here Theo." I heard her say without turning to look at me. I came to her and sat down next to her. "I'm sorry for what happened earlier." He kissed my forehead. "It's okay." I sighed. " Her father died when she was only 5 years old." I felt his stare on me as I spoke. "We we're attacked by the humans who killed the whole pack women and children."
I started to get angry and cry. "Why can't they see that just because we are different in ability it doesn't mean that we are any different from them." Her eyes changed color making me a bit worried. "Kelly I think somethings going to happen." I mind linked Kelly. "Is she mad?" I tell her yes. "No matter what don't let her leave I'm on my way." She says closing the mind link. "I need to go." She starts getting up. I hold on to her arm and pull her into me. "Let me go!!" She pushes me away hard making me land in the water as she ran to wherever. "Kelly she's on the run." I say as I get out the water and run after her. "Nadine come back here." I say as I get nearer to her. "I want revenge." I heard her say as she walked towards me. "Look Misty I know that you want revenge but the fact that you want to kill the person who killed your previous mate isn't going to bring him back to life." I stepped closer to her to the point where I was in front of her. "I know but I want them to feel what I felt that day when my mate left me." She said crying. "I wanted him to be here when she graduated from high school and college. And when she would show us her first child. And the day she would get married." She was crying hard. "But he won't be there for any of it. I just wanted Kira to have a happy family with a mom and a dad." She sighed. "What if I became her dad?" She looked at me surprised. "What?" "Yeah I mean I love you and Kira a lot and I want to be apart of her world and yours." She looked at me teary eyed. "Let me talk to Kira about it first." I hugged her and kissed her lips and saw that her went back to the regular color. "Okay." "Where is she? I have the syringe." Kelly said looking ready to put Nadine out. "Kelly it's fine now. You can go back to whatever it was you were doing." She nodded and walked with us as we headed back to the house.

So revenge isn't always the key to everything 🤔🤔🤔 interesting and the fact that Theo wants to be a part of their lives not only as Nadine's mate is something serious.
