when i looked back in your eyes

it was shining ever so brightly

i smiled and tucked a piece of

stray hair behind my ears

you looked me in the eyes and

asked me to be yours

my answer ?

of course i said yes

yes yes yes

we went on dates

that always ended up with us

settling into a booth at the cafe

talking for the hours ahead

still

we got into our first fight

it was not major but it

made me feel so sad within

we did not speak for the next

two days

i thought this was the end

but you appeared on my doorstep

on the third day

with a bouquet of roses

and all my favourite snacks

you asked for my forgiveness

and i flashed you my smile and

engulfed you in a hug

you smelt like

home

we ended up getting tangled on the couch

watching re-runs of old movies

and in your arms

i was truly

happy
