Varian x Lapis (Laprian)

Welcome Back

Lapis impatiently bounced her leg as she waited at the airport with Hiro and Tom.

"Chill, Lazuli," Tom said. "Varian will be here soon."

"I am chill," Lapis said. "I'm more chill than anyone else. If I was more chill, I'd be ice."

"Right," Tom said rolling his eyes. 

"Don't mind her," Hiro said. "She's just cranky from being separated from her Varbear for a month." Lapis lightly punched him.

"No one calls him that, except for me," Lapis said. 

"Whatever," Hiro said. 

Lapis continued to scan the crowds and pay attention to the flights. She didn't feel like she could wait much longer. Suddenly, she spotted a familiar mop of black hair with a blue streak. Lapis bounced to her feet in excitement. She wasted no time and ran straight for him. 

Varian struggled slightly with his luggage and didn't notice a bluenette running straight for him. He had no time to think before he was tackled to the floor in a bone-crushing hug. "Varian!"  Lapis happily said squeezing him tightly and placing several kisses on his cheek. 

"Hey, Lapis," Varian said from what little breath he had. 

"Welcome back, bro," Tom said as he and Hiro walked up to the two. 

"Quite the welcome," Varian said as Lapis got back to her feet and took him with her. She refused to let him go and just kept nuzzling his head. 

"Could you guys help me?" Varian asked. "I can't really carry my luggage while I'm like this."

"No problem," Hiro said as he and Tom picked up the bags. 

"So, how's Rudiger doing?" Varian asked. 

"Oh, he's fine," Lapis said. "He's at my place right now. We can stop by there and relax." Lapis started to massage Varian's shoulders.

"Hey, lovebirds," Hiro said. "Get a room first." Lapis and Varian both blushed. Tom and Hiro shrugged it off and walked to the car. Lapis and Varian followed behind them. Tom drove, while Hiro rode shotgun and Lapis and Varian sat in the back. 

It was a long trip from the airport their homes. Lapis eventually got tired and fell asleep leaning on Varian's shoulder. Varian smiled while wrapping an arm around her. He really was happy to be home.
