Varian x Lapis (Laprian)

Tired

Lapis let out a small yawn as she slipped into a tank top and night shorts. It had been a long day at the coffee shop for her. She almost wished she never listened to Steven and Peridot about getting the job. Almost. There were some good things that came out of it; like an adorable boy that came in every morning to get coffee while just trying to stay awake. 

Lapis looked at the clock on the nightstand as she sat on the bed. It was 9:00 pm. Varian still wasn't home. Lapis sighed. She wished Varian didn't always stay so late at work. She laid down and pulled out a book she had been reading. She opened it up and read while she waited. 

After a few hours, Lapis finally heard the door to the apartment open. She kept herself engrossed with her book as an exhausted Varian entered the room. He slumped over to the bed as he lazily kicked off his shoes and removed his shirt. 

Without looking away from her book, Lapis lifted up her arm as Varian crawled into bed. He immediately snuggled up to her, and she lowered her arm over him once he was in place. 

"You're home late," Lapis said still not looking away from her book. 

"Interns," Varian mumbled. "Big mess everywhere."

Lapis playfully rolled her eyes and chuckled. She marked her spot and set her book down. She looked at Varian as he snuggled against her. She thought he looked absolutely adorable. She turned off the lamp next to her and wrapped her arms around Varian completely. They both cuddled until they fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
