childhood memories

I remember my childhood.
Those mornings smelled of garlic.
Running down into the kitchen,
seing my lola making fried rice.

Those afternoons of never-ending games of fun.
Together with my cousins and playmates,
As the mid day sun baked our skin.
Until it was time for lunch.

Those sunsets over the horizon,
as we all went to the park.
Swing sets and monkey bars,
See-saws, and round-abouts.
Smiling skin covered in sweat.

Those mornings again,
of riding around
on that bright yellow scooter.
The crisp morning air
brushed coldly past my cheeks.
Carefree days of innocence,
Where ignorance could still be bliss.

Until the day we decided to move.
Move out of the nest that was my childhood.
Cuts of independence as I said my goodbyes.
My final goodbyes to those
Mornings smelled of garlic,
Afternoons of never-ending fun,
Sunsets over the horizon,
Smiling skin covered in sweat,
That bright yellow scooter,
And moments where ignorance was still bliss.
It'll all still be here though,
My childhood memories.

A/N

Just like to point out that these are basically my real childhood memories in a nutshell. Fortunately, I didn't regret anything in my childhood (well I guess for those few moments I didn't cherish), but was a little sad when we had to move away.

Tell me your childhood memories in the comments too! I'd love to hear about them!

Oh, and I'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU for all of y'all reading, commenting, voting, and supporting all of my works in this book! I truly appreciate all those supportive comments and feedback and it motivates me to keep going. I never had this much support from a book that I published before (cuz I had, and it was rubbish and I deleted it) and again, THANK YOU!!!

Vote for this poem if you liked it, if you like!
Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks y'all for reading!

See ya in the next one!
