As I awoke I felt the pressure of a set of staring eyes on me.

I hadn't opened my eyes yet, not wanting who ever this was to know my conscious presence.

I felt a small blanket laying on top of me.
I hadn't moved at all from the night before, I still had my legs drawn up to my chest I was only just slumped over, my head resting on a bark-less tree.

I slowly opened my eyes to see who was there guarding over me like a dog.

I was surprised to find a young man in a black spandex costume with a blue bird emblem on it wearing a domino mask that hid his eyes with a white kind of film over the two openings.

He was crouched tending to the fire I'm guessing he made because it wasn't there the night before.

He didn't see me get up and slowly climb the tree my head was slumped on.
When I got to the highest branch I could with still being able to see him, I made my presence known. "Who are you?"

He glanced back to where I was laying only to find an empty seat of dirt. The mysterious man snapped his attention to my resting tree. I saw him look up at me.

His eyes scanned the distance from the ground to me.
I was easily twice the height of him in the tree.
"NightWing"
"What"
"My name is NightWing"
I slowly jumped down from my tree, maintaining eye contact.

"How did you find me?" I said, already knowing the answer.
"A friend."
That's all the information I needed and all I got.
Either NightWing and Dick are working together, are friends, or Dick is NightWing.
In my head the last one didn't seem as plausible as the rest.

We had been talking about random things, mostly things about me.
Like where I came from, how I ended up in Gotham, and also my backstory.
I lied mostly about my backstory, only stating the known by the police.
I didn't lie about the first two.
I don't know why, I just felt like I couldn't.

I told him I was born to Sally Jackson, and my father was lost at sea.
I went to camp for a few years.
(I told him it was just a summer camp so he wouldn't get too suspicious).

When the time came about how I got to Gotham I told him I was being chased.
He looked at me curiously.
But that was all I gave him to go off of.

"So what about you?"
"What about me?" NightWing said acting guarded.
"Where are you from?
How are you in Gotham?
What your 'backstory'?"
With the last one I made my fingers into air quotes.
All I got from those three questions was the answer of "Classified"
"Great!" I said thinking out loud.
"I'm sitting with a masked guy who I know nothing about that could easily kill me!"
His eyes snapped up to meet mine, almost daring me to say another word.
"I would never harm you."
We sat in awkward silence for about five minutes.
He was tending to the fire while I sat on the ground watching his handy work.

Suddenly the ground began to shake.
It seemed as if lady chaos decided the world needed a bit of a stir of commotion so put it in a blender and hoped for the best.

I looked over at NightWing, he had the same look of confusion I had.

I stood up and saw a pack of hellhounds,  some empousa, I even saw the Minotaur, but the worst of them all, leading the mixture were Arai, and they were coming right at me.
