Occasionally when I see something, I have this sudden urge to mess with that object or person. This is called an impulse.
A lot of the time when I get an impulse, I genuinely try my best to control that urge. Often times, I successfully stop myself from screwing something up.
Every so often though... I lack enough control over myself to stop.
I partially blame this on ADD as my attention is literally everywhere, all the time, but I should have more control right?
My example happened very recently.
My grandmother, grandfather, Maggie(my aunt who's younger than me), Alyssa(same one as from coming out chapter), and I were all in the kitchen area getting dinner.
Maggie had her cup out on the island that was in the middle of the kitchen, and she had just put ice in her cup.
I had the urge to grab the cup and flip it over so that the ice would land in my hand. Thinking that this was a good idea for some reason, I did not know that Maggie had in fact already put water in her cup.
Doing as I planned, I turned the cup over, spilling water all over the kitchen floor tiles.
"What the hell Megan!?" My grandma asked after she gasped loudly, "Why did you do that?"
I furrowed my eyebrows, setting the cup down gently afterwards. "I... I have no idea."
Then I realized how funny the situation was and we all laughed together.
