Cherie watched with boredom as the nostalgic loading screen that once lit up her room with happiness now seemed to never stop spinning with hate, it had been a while since she had played this game, for reasons. But she made a mental note to ignore all the hate she was waiting to receive.

Kat invited you to a group!
(Accept)

"Hey!"

"Oh, it's uh been a while since you've played, huh?"

"Yeah, I have my reasons."

"...okay well, can we search for a game?"

"Sorry- sure."

Cherie tapped her mouse anxiously, waiting for the loading screen to go away so she could immediately lock in her character, and as she did she took a deep breath, attempting to free her mind from the thoughts that seemed to keep coming back.

They were halfway through the game now, given that they were on Cherie's favorite defense map the other team never really stood a chance, a small smile formed on her face as she heard the all to familiar sounds of...

Double kill,

Triple kill,

Quadruple ki-

They were suddenly drowned out by the wave of negativity that seemed oh to familiar to the poor girl, just hoping and praying she had turned her chat off but it was too late,

Goodestboy: lmao nice aim
TheLegoLord: just wait for the rework then y'all gonna learn how to aim smh
CatsBlood: omg just uninstall you no-skilled idiot
RazzleMyDazzle: jvdfjbkfdbkkgfr kys stupid Sym main oml

The voice chat went quiet, neither Kat or Cherie said a word, Cherie seemed almost hopeful that maybe just maybe Kat would stand up for her the way Joel did, right? She waited, but nothing.

"Uhm, did you see what they wrote?"

"Oh, uh yeah."

"Aren't you gonna say anything...?" Cherie's voice squeaked with uneasiness, she immediately regretted what she said.

"Just don't listen to them?" The voice chat fell silent again, neither knowing how to respond.

"...Oh it's just you always say that you would stand up for me when this kinda thing happened but.."

"Sorry, I have to go..." Cherie's heart sunk at her words, the tears starting to prick the edges of her eyes,

Kat has left the voice channel
Kat has left the group
Kat has left the game

And there she was, helplessly crying at the sight of something that she should be used to by now, muffled sobbing echoing through her small room.

You have (1) new message

She groaned in frustration not even bothering to look at the phone that lay on the edge of her desk, but when the notifications kept coming she had no other choice,

It was him, he was the only one to stand up for her, even her closest friend at the time of seven years was to scared to say anything... someone whom she had just met was ready to do it the second something was said...it's him.
