Not so amazing news (chapter 2)

Before I start this chapter I wanted to write this before but I forgot so I don't own the pic in the first chapter I found it on google.

James was looking through some of the family business paperwork after he got back from his Auror training he after all was still Lord Potter after all and must maintain the family business and fortune especially now that this is war time he wants to make sure that if anything happened to him Lilly would be able to live in luxury.

He must work for a stable future for his Lilly flower.

When Lilly told him that she's pregnant, that he'll become a father he couldn't be happier, he couldn't believe his ears he was going to have a baby with his beloved wife. He's going to have a new member in his family a little Prongslet , this child will be his hier wether they're a girl or a boy he doesn't care the Potter family didn't care much as long as on if the hier's children inherit the Potter name to pass it on.
Of course James doesn't care for all this nonsense he just wants his baby to not need anyone if he or Lilly aren't there.

He couldn't wait to tell Sirius it's kind of late now but he just can't so he grabbed the floo powder....

Sirius spent the nights with them celebrating the good news.

James caught him tearing up every once in a while, not many knew- or really cared to know- but Sirius's Younger brother disappeared for a while and then he got the news that he's dead the family tree showed that he's dead, and Padfoot was devastated, he thinks that his little brother died serving Voldmeort. He doesn't show it but prongs knew that deep down he misses him. And the news of having a Baby reminded him how he failed his baby brother, Sirius wished that his brother was here to be as happy as he is now.

The first thing they did in the morning was to floo call Poppy and get an appointment from her, she was very happy for them and more than willing to come and visit them in the afternoon to check Lilly and the unborn baby.

Then they called Remus, James hadn't seen him that happy, that young since they left Hogwarts, Lily then called her best friend Alice Longbottom.

He was surprised when he found out that she'll be seeing Poppy in the evening so they invited her and Frank over to get checked together with Lilly, he was so happy his baby won't be lonely they'd have another kid their age to play with.

Then he flooed peter and he stuttered his congratulations. Like always.

At the afternoon....

James, Lily and Sirius sat together in the lobby waiting for Alice and Frank to spend some time with each other before the healer comes.

Then the fireplace glowed green and ejected Alice followed by Frank.
They exchanged greetings and congratulated each other on the great news they moved to one of the smaller living rooms for close family and friends and sat together talking about one thing or another, the men talked about Quidditch and their Auror training while Lily and Alice talked about Alice's healer training and Lily's mastery in Charmes and some ideas for baby names.
"I don't get it Alice you're one of the best healers in your group why not do the test yourself? " Lily asked.
"OH no it's not very reliable to do this spell yourself when you are the pregnant one, especially if the child is magical because your magic won't recognize the difference between the child or their magic-if they are magical that is - and your own giving false results in most cases so you need a trained healer in that area to feel the difference in magic especially if the fetus is as young as our babies" Alice explained.

At that the door opened and Poppy walked in " hello so who wants to start?"shale said while getting her wand out and smiling warmly at the young couples in front of her.

Lily looked at Alice pleading," I want to start poppy"

" ok everyone get out, you may stay Frank dear of course if you want him to Alice? " Alice nodded.

As the healer said all left the room but the young Longbottom couple.

A few minutes latter the door reopened and Alice came out with a huge smile on her face "IT'S A BOY . And he's healthy. Oh lily go on you two let's see your child's gender, I'm soooo excited we'll be parents at the same time "

Lily smiled a wide smile happy for her best friend.

After lily and James settled in the room Poppy started chanting, Lilly felt Poppy's calm magic wach over her like pure water, Poppy smiled at them and said happily " congratulations you two should start looking for girls names"

James smiled and then laughed he was so happy he couldn't believe it first his wife was pregnant and now he's going to have a daughter, James always wanted a daughter to spoil his little baby princess to buy her everything she wants.

The Poppy started on the second enchantment to see the baby's health " well let's check that they're healthy " she said smiling at the happy youths in front of her.

She casted the enchantment and her smile faded and her face paled.

A sense of forbidding washed over James and Lilly as Poppy casted the spell again and paled further.

" w-w*cough * what's wrong Poppy?" James said in a weak voice.

" OH James Lilly... I'm sorry dears but it seems that a spell is taking place a dark one, an evil one, oh lily I'm so sorry this has happened to you but your baby should have died long ago the second the egg became a fetus but this child, this child is strong she's fighting her magic is fighting her magical core is strong but not enough though... I'm .. sorry.. I hate to say this ..b-but ... your baby won't survive more than a few months your more likely to have a miscarriage by then "

"Poppy there must be a way this is a magical world can't you cancel the spell or something?" Lily pleaded.

" no I'm sorry dear there's nothing I can do " she said sadly " if I did I would have been doing it right now "

Sirius Black sat with Frank and Alice waiting for James and lily for some time now he frowned it isn't supposed to take that long.

The door opened and a pale James stepped out and Sirius's hopeful look disappeared the second his eyes landed on his best friend's face and then Lilly's tearful eyes.

" what is the problem? " he asked in the steadiest voice he could manage- which cane out as a barley heard whisper.

James opened his mouth then closed it when nothing came out 'what can I say ' my daughter will not survive long enough to get Born?' He thought sorrowful.

He sat down beside his wife at the nearest chair
He couldn't muster the will to say that she won't survive past her second month at most because then it would seem too real and he doesn't want to believe it. At ALL.
