Old family secrets revieled (chapter 3)

Sirius really couldn't believe his ears when James and Lily first told him that they're going to have a child, he vowed to protect him or her with everything he got, to not fail this unborn baby.

Making such vow reminded him of his brother whom he failed and now his brother is no more than a dead forgotten Death Eater, he misses his baby brother, his eyes couldn't help but tear up every once in a while tears of joy and hope for a new better future for the unborn child mixed together with tears of grief and regret for his fallen brother.

Nevertheless he couldn't be happier for his brother in all but blood.

As they sat waiting for the results he was bouncing in his chair barely managing to stay put.

Many minutes passed and Lilly and James are yet to get out of that room, worry creeped over to him what is taking them so long it shouldn't take that long.

When the door finally opened he saw an expression on James's face one he'd only ever saw once and he wished to never see again, the shocked pale face almost expressionless though full of grief and denial at the same time.

He looked at Lily and she wasn't any better face pale, emerald eyes filled with life now dull and emotionless, she sat down on the nearest chair.

Sirius looked at James " what happened?" He asked in a whisper.

James opened his mouth to say something but he closed it as if the words won't leave his lips.

Sirius Black got the worst news in his life yet :
The child his best friend has always wanted was going to die before even being born.

" I'm NOT giving up on my baby Poppy said that her magic is strong she's been fighting for life for almost a month now !!! " Lily argued
"She might even get stronger with time and have enough to fight this curse have you thought of that??!!"
She took a deep breath and continued,
"Look I'm not giving up my daughter's life especially if she has a chance to survive, I don't care if it's less than 2% so long as she's fighting, surviving I'll fight with her I'll give her the chance to fight for life, she's been fighting for life the moment she was conceived every day and every minute, it's not fair to take that away from her its not our place or right to. I'll keep this child and it's final so don't you dare talk to me about giving her up ever "
She yelled at Albus Dumbledore the headmaster of Hogwarts and the leader of the order of the Phoenix, a man she saw as a grandfather figure a kind old man who fights for what is right and defends the rights of many  wronged people and always gives second and even third chances for people some even who don't deserve it, up until now.

The headmaster has been trying to persuade her and James to give up the baby inside her for weeks now her baby is now a month and a few weeks and she still has a few weeks  to reach the limit Poppy estimated for her very short lifespan but lily is hopeful that her baby will live.

James is reluctant to the belief that their baby will survive but he'll never force her to something like that if she doesn't want to, she also knows that deep down he really wants their baby to survive but he's too afraid to hope and believe, scared from disappointment, scared to loose something he's already so attached to despite never seeing his daughter yet, but this doesn't stop him from looking around for a solution and asking around some of the family friends for any good healers who all said the same as Poppy.

However unlike him Sirius is hopeful and shares her belief that she'll survive, he thinks that there must be something to do that there is a way to get rid of the curse, he's been spending all his free time to look through the Potter library, a place she never in her almost nine years of knowing him imagined seeing him step a foot in willingly much less reading the books without someone starting over him to make sure he's not getting distracted.
