Trusting a freind (chapter 8)

' You seem distracted, are you alright? You know that we can take a break if your tired, ok? Don't worry about your baby I'm sure that we will figure something,ok?'

Lily smiled gently at her second best friend ( the first being Alice), he may not show it but he is worried about her.

They met a few years ago in the summer before her 6th year,in the beginning it was one of the loneliest summers for her what with her failing friendship with Severus Snap and her even worse relationship with Petunia, her dad was an engineer and worked in Stark company ,and when she showed her interest in mechanics he decided to take her with him to one of his business trips and that's where she met Tony , then they worked on some projects and so got to know each other more, as it seems tony is a great person once he opens up to you and you get to know the real him, and he's someone she would trust with her life.

But at the moment all she can think about is what lady Hecate told her yesterday and have a feeling of immense fear.

If anyone is to ask Tony Stark about his achievements in life he would confidently reply that he's a genius, billionaire, playboy and then he would boast about all his numerous and marvelous inventions in the technology field. However deep down he know that he he is lying to himself. Yes he is proud of all of his inventions and all his robots especially JARVES but he has no one to turn to, no one to trust; both his parents were absent throughout his childhood which he spent with babysitters and all he had as a family was Jarvis their family butler.

Then he met Lilly and she became his first real friend. She never judged him she didn't even seem to know him when they first met and she listened to him without any sign of pity.

And then he met Rhodey, his other best friend. Those are the people he trusts the most. Those are the achievements he loves and is proud of the most. The friendship he has with those people as little as he sees Lily and now rhodey after he joined the army is a treasure to him for they are the only ones he can turn to. They're his family the one he never had and he would do anything within his power to do for them, and receiving this horrible news about Lilly's unborn child certainly made him worried for her.

And now they're working together on this new project but he really doesn't want to tire her but she came the other day with such happiness and enthusiasm and ideas that she really wanted to try but now she seems really distracted and he can't bear seeing her so grim.

' You seem distracted, are you alright? You know that we can take a break if your tired, ok? Don't worry about your baby I'm sure that we will figure something,ok?'

She gave him a soft smile but it soon faded as she looked at the wall above his shoulders and wore an expression of great concentration and grim, her eyes flashed with fear for a second then she gave him such a piercing stare that he felt the need to shudder for a second but he knows that lily is contemplating something important. He knows that look.

" Can I trust you with something important?"
" Sure Lilly you know me I can be serious when it counts"he replied seriously,

"If anything happens to James or myself and if Sirius or Alice can't take her in for one reason or another.. would you take care of her? please I-I know that this is so much to ask of you but please I don't know who else to go to and I trust you tony with my life" she pleaded with him her eyes full of tears.

"Lily you didn't have had to ask I would never allow anything to happen to your daughter your my best friend Lily you're my sister in all but blood and I promise I'll be the best uncle to your daughter" he ensured the distraught woman.

Lily felt guilty she should tell Tony about the magical world it is not fair for him to accept raising a kid without knowing the full truth. she really want to tell him but she can't because of the whole international law of secrecy and if anything America has one of the strictest laws regarding this matter.

"Tony I have something very important to tell you but I also can't tell you the whole truth...it's very complicated and ugh" she exclaimed frustrated.

"look don't pressure yourself in any way it's not healthy for either yourself nor the baby.OK , just relax "

Lily took a deep breath " look Tony I'm not exactly as I seem and.. and you remember the boarding school that I used to go to? Well it has to do with this too.. and-um my daughter will one day have to go to a similar school and we don't learn normal stuff there umm it's a school for gifted but I can't say how that is...uh.. we-we are not exactly normal and please don't hate me for not telling you more but I can't you might know one day, you might never know but please don't hate me for not telling you .. but if you are to ever take care of my daughter then please don't judge her for what she can't control and you must know that you will not be dealing something normal. You'll be dealing with supernatural forces that you don't believe in. I know that you're probably thinking that I went insane or something but I am perfectly healthy mentally.." she ranted nervously, and looked nervously at him.

"I'm gonna be honest with you Lils what you just said makes no sense at all, BUT I will take care of your daughter as if she's my own but I certainly hope that she would never need me to look after her, you know why? because she will have you and James and she would be a very happy and strong child. OK? and really after dealing with your temper I'm pretty sure that i can Handel anything " he finished the last part Jokingly with a wink.

Lily laughed at her friend's attempt to lighten up the mood and slapped his arm lightly "Shut up Tony".
