Grayson's POV
"What the fuck, dude?" I asked Ethan after Hanna stormed off.
"What!" He snapped at me.
"You need to learn how to control fucking yourself!" I yelled at him. I then took a deep breath realizing that yelling wasn't the way. "Look, you're smothering her and what that's doing is pushing her away. You've been all over her since the wedding, give her a chance to miss you"
He nodded before sitting on his towel.
As Zia went after Johanna and James went back to what he was doing Alexis walked over to me.
"I'm proud of you" she smiled as she hugged my waist looking up at me.
"Really?" I smiled down at me.
"You handled that very well, you deserve a reward" she smirked pulling me closer.
God, I love this woman.
Johanna's POV
"Jo" Zia said as she sat next to me on the trunk of Grayson's car.
"I'm conflicted" I sighed.
"How so?" She slung her arm over my shoulders.
"I want to forget about Ethan so bad, I just want to move on with my life; get my family back. But the more I push him away the more he comes back and I don't mind" I looked up at her as she gave me a sympathetic look.
"He was your first love, Jo, you're not going to forget him that easily" she shrugged.
"And I keep comparing him to all the nice boys I meet" I buried my face in my hands.
"Give him a chance" she said casually.
"Where's Zia and what have you done with her" I looked up at Z in disbelief.
"I'm serious, j" she slightly chuckled. "You obviously still have feelings for him so what's the point in fighting it. Look, in my opinion, your family will forgive and if you decided to date Ethan they'll accept it; if they actually care about you"
Zia left me with a lot to think about, it's all so messy. Even if I did take Ethan back, and it's a big if, there's still going to be the huge obstacle that is my family. It's probably better to leave the past in the past anyway.
4:05 p.m.
"Here" James handed me a milkshake.
"What's this for?" I asked a bit confused I already had a soda.
"To go with your fries, if you don't dip your French fries in your milkshake you're not a true sister" he gestured to my fries.
"True" I gave in before dipping a French fry into the cold treat.
As Alexis, Grayson, and James talked I looked around the beach for what seemed like the 45th time today, my eyes landing on Ethan chatting it up with a lifeguard.
Whatever, right? It's good that he's bothering her and not me. I've been wanting to get Ethan off of my back for a while so it's a win, win....right?
Ethan looked over catching me staring, I quickly averted my eyes looking down at my fries.
A few seconds later two silhouettes covered the sand in front of me.
"Guys this is Cynthia" Ethan spoke. I looked up at the blonde beauty wanting to throw up in my mouth. She's gorgeous.
"Cynthia, this is my brother Grayson, his girlfriend Alexis, and our friends James and Zia" he introduced everyone but me fantastic.
"And I'm Johanna his ex lover from rehab" I spoke up with a fake smile. She looked Ethan who shot me a glare.
"It's okay, everyone has a past. What's important is the present and future" she smiled at Ethan intertwining their fingers.
What in the actual fuck.
"You want to join us?" Ethan offered.
"Isn't she suppose to be watching ocean of something" Zia spoke up.
"She actually just got off of work, so gray pass me a burger" Ethan smirked sitting down along with carol.
"So, crystal, where you from?" I asked politely. She stunning, hopefully her personality is trash.
"It's Cynthia, and California born and raised" she giggled at Ethan who smiled back.
"Yeah whatever, how long have you guys known each other?" They seemed as if they've known each other for months but I had never heard of this Cindy.
"A few hours but i don't know we just clicked" Ethan slung his arm around her shoulders glaring at me.
Asshole.
6:45 p.m.
"I am absolutely exhausted" James groaned as we carried the stuff back to the cars.
"I know all I want to do is go home and sleep" Zia agreed.
"Hey guys" Grayson called from behind us. We stopped to listen to him.
"We're going to dinner after we get home you guys coming along?" He asked shifting the cooler in his hands.
"Hell yeah" Zia chimed in.
"I thought you guys were tired" I chuckled.
"A sister is never to tired for food" james said making Zia giggle and agree.
"I call shot gun!" I shouted as I skipped over to the car.
After everything was loaded into the cars I got into the passenger seat of Grayson's car clicking my seatbelt.
Zia got into the drivers seat as James got into the back confusing me.
"No offense James but what are you doing here" I chuckled.
"Oh, Cynthia is catching a ride with us so she took my spot and Grayson had Alexis go with them so she wouldn't be uncomfortable" he explained as he fixed his makeup in the rear view mirror.
"Why are we inconveniencing ourselves for a chick Ethan met today?" I scoffed rolling my eyes.
"Zia, do you smell that?" James sniffed.
"What?" Zia asked as she backed out of the parking spot.
"It smells like a big steaming pile of jealousy" James crossed his arms over his chest looking at me.
"Wha- I am so not jealous" I crossed my arms over my chest scoffing. "As if I'd ever be jealous of her shiny blonde hair and amazing legs"
"Johanna, don't sweat it he's obviously using her to make you jealous" Zia laughed as she drove.
"You're right, fuck her and her flawless skin" I smiled before sliding my shades on.
