Chapter 34: Let's go. I have a girl to get to

  ♔Ethan's POV ♔  

'This sweater is dope.' Zach gasps as he holds out a royal blue Supreme hoodie and clutches it to his chest. 'Does it bring out my eyes?' He then falsely fluttered his eyelashes and pouts.

'Dude you're giving me the creeps, stop.' I softly chuckle slightly pushing him away.

'I'm buying it.' He shrugs, before grabbing it off the rack.

'You do know that's gonna cost you like a hundred bucks.' I remind him, looking over at the selection of snapbacks the store had to offer.

'These have sold out in Cali. If you think I'm letting it go, you're crazy.' He states staring at me like I've grown another head.

'Whatever.' I mumble. 'Let's go get some food. I'm starving.' I decide just as my stomach cries in hunger.

'I would kill for a slice of pepperoni and pineapple pizza right now.'  He groans as he walks over to the check out and pays for the sweater, wincing at the price. 'Mom's gonna kill me.'

'Ugh you're just like Summer. She loves pineapple on her pizza.' I grimaced, smiling slightly at the though of her.

'Oh yeah, Summer. You never told me she was your girlfriend. I thought you don't do the whole boyfriend-girlfriend thing.' He wondered as we walked in sync out of the shop.

'I don't. And she's not my girlfriend. Just a friend.' I mumble looking down at all of the people who resembled ants on the lower levels of the mall.

'Friends with benefits, maybe. Come on E, does it look like I was born yesterday?' He deadpans looking over at me. 'There's something going on between you two. You are more than just friends.' He scoffed, accentuating the phrase with his fingers. 'You like her don't you?'

'Yeah.' I simply state, not even having to think about it.

'So what are you gonna do about it?' He asked, prying for the answer he wanted to hear.

'What can I do? You said yourself, I'm new to this. The most experience I've had with girls is between the hours of the early morning. I can't do this to save my life.' I helplessly flail my hands around, nearly stabbing someone in the eye.

'Well it's a good thing I came then, isn't it?' He smiles, before placing his right arm over my shoulders. 'You, my friend, are gonna take love lessons from me. Get ready for a Zach Attack baby!' He laughs, before leading us towards the pizza stall.

'Logan's the sweetest. Look what he bought me guys!' Mandy gushed as she held out her hand to show us a silver ring that was dotted with small intricate red jewels in the shape of a rose.

'Oh wow...it's beautiful Mands.' I gasped, grabbing her hand and adoring the piece of jewellry.

'He said it's a promise ring. That whatever happens, I'll always be a part of his heart.' She continued, her smile wide.

'Awwww!' Me and Natalie both exclaimed, looking at each other with a pang.

Then we heard the sound of a static coming from further down in the school halls.
