lisa sighed as she left the classroom, taking a final glance at the empty seats before looking at her wristwatch. normally, she would walk out of there feeling stressed and worn out but today was different.

this was the last day of school and she felt a little empty but also happy, thinking about the memories she made.

she walked downstairs and noticed a couple of students watching someone from behind the lockers. lisa raised her eyebrow and went to take a look. but then a pair of hands covered her sight, surprising her.

"guess who.."

lisa smiled as she heard that voice, bringing her hands to hold hers. the familiar warmth feeling spreading in her chest.

"jennie..."

she smiled and jennie removed her hands, bringing them around lisa's waist instead, pulling her into a back hug. jennie rested her chin on lisa's shoulder as lisa looked back, smiling.

"i missed you."

lisa giggled, booping jennie's nose.

"i missed you too, love."

the other girl smiled at the endearment and pulled away, this time properly hugging lisa. the two stayed like that for a couple of minutes until a loud voice cut them off.

"hey you two love birds! stop being so mushy and disgusting there! your juniors are watching you."

jennie rolled her eyes at seyoon's voice, pulling away from the hug and turning to look at the guy who was approaching them.

"oh shut it, will you? did you hear a single complain from us whenever you two and chaeyoung would--"

"no shouting in the corridor, seyoon." lisa cut jennie off, smiling at her. jennie rolled her eyes and stood beside her as lisa placed her arm around her shoulders.

"and no public display of affection, ms. president." seyoon wiggled his eyebrows as jennie shook her head, whispering to lisa.

"i can't believe i used to like him."

"yeah, me too." lisa chuckled. "anyways, seyoon?"

"yes, ms. lalisa?"

"about that double date thingy you were asking me earlier.. is the offer still up?" lisa asked.

"yeah, you guys are coming with us?" seyoon asked as lisa looked at jennie as if waiting for her answer. jennie looked at her for a moment before nodding.

"sure, why not."

lisa smiled and looked at seyoon again. "she agreed."

"so.. let's go now? you don't have a meeting, right? and chaeyoung's already waiting outside." seyoon was about to walk away when jennie spoke up.

"actually.. i'll show lisa something first. this won't take long. just wait for us outside." she said, smiling.

seyoon and lisa looked at each other with confused looks on their faces then seyoon nodded slowly. "okay then. but hurry up please. i'm starving." he said and left the couple.

lisa turned towards jennie and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"what are you gonna show me?"

jennie smiled again.

"you'll see." she said, holding lisa's hand and started walking towards the second floor. lisa followed her girlfriend and when they arrived at the music room, the girl had a confused look on her face once again.

"why'd you bring me here?"

jennie didn't answer. instead, she told lisa to sit next to her on the piano bench and lisa did, still a little confused.

"i'm not the best at singing but i hope my heart reaches yours." jennie smiled and started playing.

for the second time that day, the familiar warmth spread on lisa's chest. she looked at jennie who was so immersed in the song, as the sunlight cut through the windows. and lisa swears that this was the most beautiful thing she has ever laid her eyes upon. the scene was breathtaking, like the daydreams lisa would have about jennie but the thing is- they aren't just daydreams anymore.

lipstick stains on my neck

without you i'm a trainwreck"

the love of her life's now finally hers and she felt as if she was the luckiest person in the world. lisa continued listening to jennie's voice and closed her eyes for a moment, then continued to admire jennie.

"your lips on mine
i'm the lucky one"

jennie finished her song and took a deep breath, turning towards lisa. the other girl took a deep breath too, locking gazes with her.

"that was beautiful.."

those were the only words she could think of at that very moment. jennie's cheeks turned red, smiling at lisa, before leaning in.

the whole world stopped as jennie planted a kiss on lisa's lips. they stayed like that for a moment, resting their foreheads on top of each other after breaking away. the two closed their eyes, both flashing wholehearted smiles.

"i love you. it has always been you." lisa whispered.

"i love you too. it's always gonna be you." jennie replied.

and they stayed like that for a moment, content with each other's presence, not caring about the world around them, or the starving seyoon who's waiting outside with chaeyoung, all they could think about at that time was how they complete each other and how it's going to be just the two of them. always and forever.
