Chapter 14

“Get in the car.” He orders.

“What makes you think I’m letting you drive again? I didn’t even get my free coffee.” I cross my arms to my chest.

“Yes you did. Lover boy got you one.” His face turns into a scowl.

“That doesn’t count. He only made it free since you wouldn’t pay for it.”

He scoffs. “Then maybe you can ride with him home.”

He’s not making any sense, it’s my car.

“You know what, maybe I will.” I say confidently. What, he thinks he’s the boss of me now or something. He wishes.

He growls. He literally growled, like as if he’s angry. “Just get in the damn car!”

I stare at him for a moment, standing still with my arms crossed. He looks at me before opening the driver’s door and getting in, starting the car. My eyes widen, he can’t leave without me in my own car. I hold my hands up in surrender.

“Okay, okay. I’ll get in the car.” The door opens and I make my way in.

He backs out of the parking lot, eyes never meeting mine. His right hand is on the steering wheel and his left gripping his hair, elbow resting on the door. He looks pissed off with his hair messy sticking out all over the place, and eyes narrowed at the road. I may dislike this guy at the moment, but I still know when someone looks hot, and he so does right now.

Snap out of it.

I take my eyes away from him and into the houses were passing by. I can tell were driving to my house. What about his car at school? My thoughts are answered when I see his shiny black car parked in his driveway across from mine. I get out of the car, walking around to the driver’s side.

“Keys.” I say, holding my hand out.

Instead of handing me my keys, he leans on the car and stares at the ground.

He sighs “Are you planning to contact him?” His voice is low, almost sounding sincere.

“James?” He seems to be bothered by the fact that I know his name by the way he snaps his head up to face me.

“You know his name?” I can tell his temper is rising up by the sound of his voice.

“We’re friends.”

“Just friends?” He wants me to confirm.

I roll my eyes. “Yes, just friends.”

He smiles. “Good.”

I laugh. “Now give me my keys.” I order, he just looks at me with his eyebrows raised, loosing amused. “You should have driven your car to school instead of hijacking mine.” I playfully scold.

“A friend drove me to school, couldn’t say no since he just got out the hospital.”

“Well, next time tell your friend to drive you home too.”  I just want my keys back.

He chuckles. “You should meet him. You two are alike, both bossy.”

I glare at his for calling me bossy. I sigh, looking around. It’s a chilly night. The streets are empty, and the moon is fully visible.

“Keys.” I ask for the third time. I hold out my hand again, shaking it to get his attention.

He looks at my hand then to me, making eye contact. A smugly grin creeps its way onto his lips. He grabs my arm and quickly pulls me into him, causing me to fall on his chest. He smiles, cupping my cheek. His thumb makes the same gesture as earlier, drawing circles . His eyes skimming my face. His lips slowly parted, breathing in and out. I stare back at him in awe. He turns us around, now my back is against the car and him pressing on to me. My hands flat against the cold metal. I feel his hand on my waist, and his gaze getting closer. His right hand goes down to the crook of my neck, causing me to tilt my head. He mimics my action by tilting his head the other way. He slowly lowers his head down, while I stand there frozen, unable to move against the car. He brings his face closer, my eyes involuntarily fluttering close.
