Being indecisive of what type of genre to write?

I know writing & publishing your first book ㅡor second or thirdㅡ can be very exciting and quite scary and sometimes when we do something for the first time, we don't quite know what specific thing to do.

For example, the very first time I realized I wanted to write books, I was pretty confused on what kind of genre I should write because it was all so new to me and I just wanted to try all genres but of course I knew that would be quite hard for me.

So, if you're struggling to pick what kind of genre you want to write about, think about what genre you like to read. For example, fanfiction [this one is the easiest because it basically covers all genres, if you know what I mean], romance, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and more.

I, of course picked Fanfiction as the genre I wanted to write about BUT besides that, romance is the genre I write which is inside the Fanfiction context [fanfics basically has all the genres, romance, fantasy etc.]

And from the genre you're most interested in, you can go and try out other genres. For me, I tried out fantasy which was great but I also had some struggles writing it but that's okay, writing isn't always a smooth road.
