As time passed, Nature Cat's feelings for Nature Dog only grew. I mean, he DID save her from being harassed by Ronald, right? And Nature Dog, her birthday didn't really go the way she planned, but she was still ecstatic to see her dorky nature-loving friend for her birthday; something that she never really expected.
"...something she never really expected." Was that because of her family heritage and rules?
You see, remember when Nature Cat was born as "Fred the house cat"? Well, Nature Dog was the EXACT opposite. Nature Dog was born as Amber the stray dog. Her parents, Layla and Lucky, were abandoned by their owners as puppies, and fell in love with each other as adults. Then, they mated, and Layla became pregnant with puppies. But, tragedy struck the couple when Layla died in puppy birth, and Lucky became over protective of the kids ever since. One of the things that Nature Dog, or Amber, remembered Papa Lucky teaching her and her brothers is to stay away from cats, for cats are mean and dangerous.
One time, Amber lost Lucky to one ferocious stray cat in the streets, as he clawed his eyes and tore up every single part of his body, leaving Amber and her brothers traumatized. Amber then ran off to the forest, and discovered a love for nature, and became happy ever since, hence her new name, Nature Dog. She also vowed never to speak of her family ever again.
Fred/Nature Cat, on the other hand, had a pretty decent life, even though it was a bit boring in the house. He ALWAYS loved nature, and whenever his family is gone, Fred the house cat would transform into his alter-ego, Nature Cat. The Nature Cat we came to know and love. The Nature Cat who would find the confidence and strength to pull through every obstacle. The Nature Cat who was a loyal friend to EVERYONE he meets. Nature Cat was a pretty famous character, to say the least.
Now, back to the present, shall we? Anyway, it was a rainy day in the forest, and Nature Cat was hiding under the bushes, hoping to avoid the pouring rain. "Water! Why does it ALWAYS have to be WATER?!?" he cried. "It's not so bad, Nature Cat", said Hal, as he wrapped his arm around the yellow cat. Daisy peeked from the bushes and looked up to the sky.
"Well, there's no more rain", she said happily. Then Nature Cat gleefully bolted out of the bushes. Hal followed him with a smile and a blush. The dog and the cat went to the rivers when...
"AHHHH!!!" Nature Cat screamed as rain poured on him. Hal ran off to God knows where, leaving his best friend and crush behind. "Hal!" Nature Cat yelled out, but no one heard him.
Then, all of a sudden, Nature Cat saw his shadow get covered by a mysterious umbrella. He looked behind, and it was Nature Dog. "N-Nature Dog?" he asked, letting out a small smile and a blush. Nature Dog blushed hard. "W-Well, Nature C-Cat. What brought you here in the middle of the rain?" she said.
Nature Cat replied, "I thought the rain was gone, so I went out of the bushes with Hal. But now Hal is lost". His blush turned into a frown. "Don't frown, Nature Cat. You'll find him soon enough", Nature Dog said as she lifted the yellow cat's chin.
The two walked around the animal neighborhood and somehow ended up in the streets. Nature Dog's smile turned into a frown as she began to collect memories of the old streets. "What's wrong, Nature Dog?" Nature Cat asked. Nature Dog faced the worried cat. "Well, Nature Cat, it's something about me", she said. She then goes to a corner and picks up an already chewed up chew toy and a worn-off blue blanket. Nature Cat follows her by, trying to comfort her in some way.
Nature Dog's mind then starts up a flashback.
"No! Layla! Speak to me! Darling, don't leave me here alone with our babies! NOOOO!!!" cried a big black spaniel. He held the puppies as they all watched the mother close her eyes and fall into a deep, permanent sleep. A little dark brown spaniel cried for her dying mother with her father. Alas, the mother was dead, with her paw still holding a chew toy. The father sobbed loudly and let out a long, tearful howl. All the puppies joined in with him.
Then, years later, the brown puppy named Amber and her brothers watched as their father fought a big, tall, mean, dangerous cat down the alley. "Run!" he commanded them. "Run before they get you!!!" Amber's brothers sprinted for their lives; Amber herself just sat there with tears in her eyes as she watches her poor father get killed by the cat. Then, she ran off, not to catch up with her brothers, but to somewhere else. Somewhere where she'll never hear of her family ever again.
"W-Who are you?" the scared brown puppy asked a butterfly. "Don't worry, little one. I won't hurt you", the butterfly soothed her. "By the way, what's your name?" "Amber", the puppy replied.
The flashbacks soon end and Amber, now a full-grown dog, looked sadly at the chew toy and the blanket, and then at a worried Nature Cat. Then, tears streamed down the brown spaniel's face. "I've had a really bad past, Nature Cat", Nature Dog sobbed, "A really BAD past." Nature Cat went to comfort her with a hug. "Oh, Nature Dog. It's okay, babe. Y-You can stay with me and you'll never have to think of your past EVER again", he told Nature Dog. "By the way, what's your real name? Mine is Fred, but don't tell anybody else."
"Amber", said Nature Dog. "My real name is Amber." Then, the two nature pets broke from the hug, and Fred wiped off Amber's tears and embraced her. "Well then, Amber", he said, "I love you." "I love you, too", Amber replied. The two began to kiss passionately.
