One Cat, One Dog

Chapter 4

*One month later*

It was Nature Dog's birthday, and she was so excited to celebrate it with Sputnik and their friends. Sputnik and his cousins, Nigel and Houston, baked a big chocolate cake for the special occasion, and decorated it  with some of Nature Dog's favorite treats. Some of Nature Dog's friends from Russia brought new presents for her. But, what they didn't know was that someone was going to ask for Nature Dog's paw in marriage, and he was a totally uninvited guest...

Anyways, Nature Dog was greeted with "Happy Birthday"'s and compliments and high fives. All the presents were wrapped with sparkly bows and pink paper, and they turned out to be mainly just chew toys and picture frames. Sputnik checked to make sure no uninvited guests came to this party. But I'm pretty damn sure he didn't check hard enough because guess who came in an hour later...

A fat purple cat with pink stripes entered the party with a red rose and a golden ring in his paws. His face looked menacing as he smirked and entered the party. Nature Dog and Sputnik shared a confused look. "Okay, honestly, did you invite this guy?" Nature Dog asked Sputnik. "Probably not", Sputnik replied. The fat cat took at least a few more steps closer as he approached Nature Dog. 

"Hi, Nature Dog. I'm Ronald. Nature Cat told me a whole lot about you", the purple cat purred. Nature Dog crossed her arms and frowned. "Of course", she said sarcastically. "What do you want from me?"

"To be honest, I think you're pretty sexy and cute for a dog. I think I want to marry you, just for kicks and giggles", Ronald said in a flirtatious tone. He presented the brown dog with the rose and snickered. Nature Dog rolled her eyes and responded with a "no". Ronald's smile changed into an angry frown. 

"No?!? That's what you're going to tell me? No?!? That you don't want to marry such a handsome cat like me?" the fat cat shouted. Nature Dog ignored him and went to grab a piece of her birthday cake. Ronald followed her, still clutching the rose and the ring. This angered Nature Dog.

"Go away, Ronald. You're not invited to my birthday party and you won't marry me", she commanded. Ronald became extremely furious with Nature Dog. "Fine!" he said, "Then, I'll just cancel this whole 'party' and have you come with me, birthday dog!" He dropped the rose and the ring and grabbed the brown dog and carried her outside. "YOU WILL MARRY ME!!! YOU WILL LIVE WITH ME FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!" he shouted to her ear. 

But then, just before the fat cat could escape with Nature Dog in his arms, a certain yellow cat bolted to the scene. It was Nature Cat! He had come to save Nature Dog. "Let her go, Ronald," he demanded. Ronald shook his head and said, "Nope. Not a chance, Nature Cat; she's MY girlfriend, moron." So, Nature Cat pushed Ronald to ground, causing him to let go of Nature Dog. Then, the yellow cat rushed over to the dog and picked her up, causing her to blush. 

"Stop, Nature Cat! Y-You're making me blush!" Nature Dog cried in a laughing fit. Her cheeks turned red as she looked through his eyes. Nature Cat put her down and hugged her and said, "I'm sorry if I ruined your party. By the way, y-you do look beautiful today, babe." This made Nature Dog blush even more. But, before she could say anything, Daisy and Squeeks ran over to Nature Cat. 

"Nature Cat! What happened?" said Squeeks. Nature Cat took one last glimpse of his crush and blushed as he turned to face his friends. Nature Cat replied, "Oh, nothing. Just reuniting with an old friend." 

Meanwhile, Nature Dog lifted her hat and clutched it to her chest as she watched Nature Cat leave the party. She then pulled out the picture of them together and thought, I guess I DO love you, Nature Cat.
