"Thank you for saving my life, another debt I can never repay. I hope you will not have to see me again."

Kihyun rushed to the door to chase after the distraught man as he dashed through the doorway in a flash. But when he reached the entryway, the mysterious rouge was out of sight in the morning sun. Closing the door slowly, he leaned against it with a sigh.

"What did he mean by another debt he cannot repay? What a mysterious and beautiful man,"

He pushed off the door gently and began sanitizing the entire examination area from the blood and dirt the man had brought in with him from the previous night. Once the clinic was rid of the stench of blood and sewer water, Kihyun walked over to the shrine of his beloved God Lathander to light the half-melted candles before praying gently. Lathander, whose name was also the Morninglord, was a deity of dawn, renewal, spring, vitality, and youth. He granted Kihyun with the power of healing of a cleric when he was a young boy,

A young boy with light bubblegum pink hair skipped along a field of spring day flowers. The sun beamed against his young smooth skin as he periodically bent down to pick a handful of wildflowers for his mother back home.

Kihyun had stopped to admire the sapphire wings of a butterfly that flew by when he heard a high pitched cry echo through the field. His head whipped around to the sound. He dropped the bundle of flowers and started to sprint in the direction of the distraught noise. He panted heavily as he reached the top of the hill. Peering down, he witnessed three teenage boys beating on a small animal with sticks and throwing stones while laughing at the creatures yelps of pain.

"Hey! Stop it!"

Kihyun screamed as he ran down the hill towards the group. The kids looked up with fright and quickly raced in the opposite direction of him. Approaching the figure that was lying still against the ground, he dropped to his knees with tears streaming down his rosy cheeks. He gently lifted the small puppy into his hands screaming out into the empty air,

"Wake up, please! Someone help me!"

Kihyun held the young pup against his chest as sobs wrecked throughout his small fragile body.

A jolt of a warm unknown energy washed throughout his chest and down his fingertips. As he pulled the puppy away from his chest, he watched a warm glow started to emit from his hands and surround the small creature's body,

"Here, my child. I will grant you with the power of healing as your pure soul called out to me.."

Suddenly the pup let out a small gust of air as the warmth slowly faded from his palms, and the animal wiggled around with life. He stood up with disbelief looking around for the source of the comforting voice,

"Who are you? Where are you?"

"I am within your heart now, my name is Lathandar,"

Kihyun hissed as he felt the skin protecting his chest began to burn intensely,

"You are now marked with the symbol of life. Pray to me and you will grow stronger with every passing day,"

The voice faded as he pulled the tunic down around his neck and gazed upon a burning red symbol of a rune traveling into the sunlight engraved on his chest.

Kihyun was startled out of the flashback to his childhood and his hand was pressed against his chest subconsciously. The wooden door to his clinic creaked by someone entering and he turned around.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

Kihyun rushed over to the newly entered patient as he began his full days' work of using the healing gift he was blessed with so many years ago.
