MONDAY 9:54PM
jules laid back on his laptop, watching netflix with an open, half melted tub of ice cream.
he was trying to stay awake to get his sleep schedule back on track but he could feel himself almost giving in until his phone went off with a notification, it was marissa messaging him.
jules immediately looked up from his phone and threw it onto the bed, getting off and stumbling over to his bedroom window to unlock it, opening it to find marissa waiting in the dark.
"oh my god how long have you been out there?"
jules asked her.
"long enough to see you waste that tub of ice cream" marissa shrugged before climbing into the window and walking over to sit on the bed, grabbing the ice cream on the way.
"well" jules closed the window again and sat down with her on her side "whats up?"
marissa shoved some ice cream in her mouth before uttering "well" she shoved one more spoonful into her mouth
"you know me, i cant keep secrets, at all, hate them."
marissa said with a mouthful of ice cream.
"i mean, you kept the secret that you were gay for a pretty long time" jules told her.
"not the case" marissa shook her head, taking in another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth
"me and brianna know" marissa looked down to the tub and just continued to spoon feed herself.
"know about what?" jules was confused.
"about mr. b" marissa refused to look up to jules, with all the guilt she had felt.
jules was trying to process what he had just heard, should he have confessed? should he act like he didnt know what she was talking about? his stomach dropped into his butt, and his palms were getting sweaty as a wave of nerves came over him
"i have no idea what you're talking about"
he shook his head.
"we saw the messages, jules" marissa looked up to him "we saw everything" she shook her head as well.
jules was in shock, how did they see them?
"how did you see them?" jules asked marissa, not breaking the eye contact the two friends shared.
"the party" she sighed "when you told bri to hold your phone, you got a text from him and we mightve-"
jules stood up as quick as he could
"yall went through my phone?" he interrupted her.
"why the fuck would yall do that? i dont go through and of you guys' stuff" he shook his head and began pacing back and forth across the room.
"i mean" marissa started
"are you gonna tell the police or something?"
jules stopped and turned back to look at her
"are you fudging stupid? why would i do that?"
"because this is wrong, jules hes like a billion years older than you" marissa stated.
"hes 27, idiot" he rolled his eyes and shook his head
"i cannot believe im having this conversation with you right now!" jules looked over to her, she was still eating ice cream, probably guilt eating.
"ease up on the name calling" marissa stared to him
"this is illegal jules, and its gross" she repeated.
jules walked back over to her and took a seat.
"dont you ever feel lonely?" jules asked her
"i have my friends" she shook her head
"oh cmon, you know what i mean, dont you want a girl to love and to care for and other shit?" he told her.
"well....yeah" marissa shook her head "but.."
"marissa im alone, hes the only one that makes me feel full, he makes me feel full of confidence and full of courage and love. i cant throw this all away, i just cant." he shook his head "and you being the only other lgbt kid in our grade, i thought you would understand how hard is it for us, to see everyone else so in love, and having a person to do stuff with and kiss and hug and -"
marissa interrupted him, with a disgusted look plastered onto her face "yall kiss and hug?"
"i love him and he loves me" jules pleaded "you cant tell anyone please marissa"
marissa shook her head "jules...."
jules grabbed marissas hand "please marissa, i have this under control i know what im doing, i promise"
marissa stayed quiet for a while, before nodding, refusing to look at jules "okay" she whispered.
"thank you" jules whispered as well, and let go of her hand, while looking around the room
"but im taking this" marissa grabbed the tub of ice cream and the spoon.
"go ahead" jules chuckled and walked her back over to the window.
marissa handed jules the tub and carefully climbed out the window, and jules handed it back to her when she was outside.
"see you tomorrow" he told her.
"tomorrow" marissa smiled, and backed away before turning and walking down the street.
jules closed and locked his window before jumping back onto bed and turning off the light.
