I snuck quickly back into the sleeping quarters, hoping Void was either at work or in his room. That was highly unlikely though, he was probably lurking just around this corner. I quickly stepped around the corner prepared to run as fast as possible back the long way around. He wasn't there... good. If he didn't show up I might be able to make it all the way to my room without any detours. The rate this was going he might not show up at all. That was probably just the hope in my talking because it was next to impossible.

"EVA!" Shit, He found me! I sprinted quickly down the halls towards my room. His boots hit the metal floor echoing around the halls helping me keep track of his movements. "Get back here!" he yelled obviously out of breath. It really perplexed me that a man who could fight for days straight and look perfectly fine couldn't chase an eleven-year-old girl through halls without stopping every minute. I mean seriously?

Seeing my door, I skidded to a stop, only adding to the black skid marks in front of my door. I fumbled around in my pocket for my key card, when my hands final grasped it I ran my fingers along it trying to find the side with the code on it. Finding it I slipped it into the lock on my door quickly trying to type in the characters to my password.

A hand rapped around my arm pulling me back before I could type in the last character. "Eva..." Void muttered catching his breath. "Infirmary... now..." He reached out and confiscated my card. "You can... have... this back when I... see no more blood seeping through... your clothing..." He muttered some incomprehensible words before continuing, "What even... happened this time?"

I snarled at him, he snared back seeming suddenly scarier now that he was standing over me. "I fell of a rock," I lied looking away in an attempt to keep myself from looking guilty. It probably didn't help at all though. He didn't seem to buy it. He just glared at me suspiciously.

"Sure you did..." he muttered. "So, what really happened? We both know falling off a rock doesn't cause you to cough up blood," he paused momentarily as if thinking of something. "Most of the time at least..." I squirmed in his hold trying desperately to avoid his gaze.

"Ok, ok! I jumped a fence and a human shot me," I half lied again. In my opinion it was a believable lie, for me at least. He still looked at me suspiciously, but still seemed more content with that answer. I mean it was the truth but there were a few other factors involved.

"Get yourself to the infirmary." He let go of me pointing back down the hallway. I ran off, wanting to get back to training as soon as possible. "O, and tell Ameka to treat you immediately," Void yelled after me. I nodded back at him continuing to run as fast as I possibly could towards the infirmary.

The line to get treated was long, but not wanting Void to be mad I weaved my way to the front. "Ameka!" I yelled waving my arms around. I scanned the lobby quickly, she wasn't there. I ran over to the front desk "Hey Chi," Chi looked up from the paper work she'd been trying to decipher. You see Chi was one of our most respected warriors, but she'd recently gotten into a lot of trouble and her punishment was approving and filing documents. "Where's Ameka?"

Chi leant back on her chair and yelled out, "Ameka!" I covered my ears which really didn't help, Chi had a painfully loud voice. Several nurses rushed into the lobby all with a look of panic on their faces. Ameka followed not far behind.
