The Beginning

I feel the sunlight hitting my skin through the window, the warmth feels comforting as I'm sprawled on the bed. I sigh as I realize it's the first day of summer finally and I'm going into 11th grade. I have no idea what my plans are, but there is one person in mind that I want to see, but haven't seen in awhile. "Tyler." his name comes out of my mouth as I sigh.

Flashes of memory struck my mind of when we were younger, he was my first kiss matter of fact. We new each other since the day we were born because our mothers were best friends, but he moved and went to a new school not too far away. The problem was that we'd see each other sometimes, but it became less and less. So now we see each other mostly in the summer.

I look over at my night stand and reach out towards my phone. As I raise it, nothing is displayed on the screen. I roll my eyes and decide to get up. As I walk out of my room I make my way towards my kitchen. Voices are heard from the hall and as soon as I walk into the kitchen you know who I see. "Tyler."
"Tori!!!" He walks over and brings me into a short embrace and then pulls me out to look at me. "Long time no see."
"Ya." I say nervously
"I've missed you."
"I've missed you too..."
My mother looks at me and goes "Tyler will be staying with us all summer, his mom and dad have decided to go on vacation to Hawaii for awhile and he wanted to see you."
I look at Tyler and feel as though the world has lifted me and I'm floating on thin air. My excitement rushes through me and butterflies fill my stomach with anxiety.
I think to myself, if Dad were here, he'd never allow Tyler at the house. But he died about 2 years ago in a car accident.
"That's great!" I say as I pull my phone out of my pocket.
Me: Tyler Dunn is staying with me for the entire summer!
Catrina Vega: OMG! He's pretty cute, you lucky bitch.
Me: Hush, ya ik. Idk what I'm gonna do.
Catrina Vega: Um, have the best summer duh.
I roll my eyes and then I look up to catch Tyler staring at me as he's drinking from a cup. My moms washing the dishes and she turns around and says "Tori, how bout you go help Tyler with his room."
I roll my eyes and say "It's not like he hasn't been here before Mom."
Then she gives me this look and I realize if I don't start walking, she's probably going to kill me.
We come from a pretty southern family and we're from Arkansas, Greenbrier to be exact, my mom is a fiery red head with beautiful blue eyes and she's kinda tall and has a slim figure. You don't really want to get on her bad side. Tyler moved to Little Rock when we were going into 8th grade.
As we make it to his room, I turn around and go "Here we are, I think you can unpack your own bags i'm pretty sure." He laughs.
"Ya."
