Caden sits on the couch as I make it down the hall watching TV and I sit next to him. It's already the next day after me and Tyler talked about going slow. I honestly don't know what to think. I'm happy, yes. Just nervous. I don't want him to think I'm a pill popper and have to make myself feel better with drugs, but it's how my life has been. My father meant the world to me and I'm glad I have had a Dad that was there for me. Mom has been doing pretty fine after his loss, but it took awhile, but I guess she takes it better than I am.
Tyler walks down the hall I see in the corner of my eye and he yawns. "Morning." and he stretches heading towards the kitchen. Caden looked over and we said "Morning." in unison.
I think of Dad.
He used to make the best breakfast, I sometimes would help him make my favorite, which was blueberry pancakes with butter and powder sugar. He would help make my chocolate milk and we'd blow bubbles together. He knew exactly what I liked. I mean Mom does too, but I don't know what it was about how Dad made things that feels so different than Mom. I guess he spit in it and it made it better. I kinda laugh in my head at that thought.
Tyler walks in and joins us on the couch, he wraps me in his arms and my brother kind of peaks over at us. But he minds his business I guess.
We continue to watch Looney Tunes which was one of my favorite childhood cartoons. I feel safe in Tyler's embrace.
