{Tyke's POV}

I woke up reluctantly, almost instantly. An absolutely weird feeling simply overpowered me, and all of a sudden I had a desire, a need, to go to the Forest.

Walking there, I reached the Forest soon after. However the feeling had not subsided, it still wanted to bring me, to this place where I was needed. I followed, I walked, I continued. Eventually it brought me to the middle of nowhere, only to realise that there was my vial at my feet, broken glass and the tiny little figurine.

Someone had summoned me.

Someone needed my help.

That someone was gone.

Looking around, I spotted blood. Slight blood stains on the tree-tops. That someone, was probably out there, in need of help. I followed the blood trail, but I must be back when it's dawn.

Dawn is an awfully strong thing that no faerie can bear, the sun's rays are so bright that it literally blinds us. The heat kills us, and faeries just dissipate into thin air as though they were never there.

As I followed, the trail of blood increased slightly, and the blood was sticky - whatever happened happened not long ago. I continued following the trail, but again I felt dragged to somewhere else,  so I headed to where whoever summoned me.

Shockingly, it turned out to be the Lady of the Court, also known as the Queen of Faerie. My mouth formed a big 'O' when I reached the Court. I clamped it shut immediately. Opening mouths widely is rude.

I bowed. "My Lady, what is it of me that you ask?" I asked courteously, hoping not to offend her. Disastrous consequences would happen if she were offended, such as standing right in front of the Sun when dawn breaks.

She smiled. "Glad you're here. I wanted to ask you something. Is that Kayla of yours with Minerva now?"

I stared blankly at her. Although I was bonded with her to protect her - the winged mark on our left wrists prove it - but it does not mean that I would know where she is.

I could only know what was she feeling, how she is doing, whether she is alive or not. I paused, I did not know how to answer her.

The Queen grew impatient. "So? Is she with Minerva now?"

I regained my composure, and then began. "First of all, Kayla isn't mine. Secondly, I have simply no idea where she is, for the Bonding does not work this way."

Evidently the Queen's face became purple, her face became rather - splotchy and she became hysteric."WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE BONDING DOESN'T WORK THIS WAY?! All bondings should work, you ought to know her location!"

Her immensely tightened and clenched fist punched the table.

Hard.

I gulped. "My Lady, you have misunderstood -"

She was literally jumping with fury, and was in scary hysterics. "I HAVE NOT MISUNDERSTOOD, YOU RASCAL!" I did not even finish explaining, how could she jump to conclusions? Mean, I thought.

I frowned, and continued. "For one, I am not a rascal. Indeed, you have misunderstood -"

"NO I DID NOT AT ALL, I'M NOT WRONG, SHUTUP, YOU IMBECILE!"

Irritated, I yelled back at her. "MY LADY, WOULD YOU JUST LISTEN?" I glared at her, hoping she would remain silent. Thankfully she did. She closed her mouth shut and listened tenatively.

"As I was saying, I was neither an imbecile or a rascal. Just so you know, this bonding is different. I cannot locate where she is."

Her eyes stared at me in disbelief. I nodded.

"It's true, the bonding is different because I'm bonded with a human." I said, looking at her, and continued. "The bonding is weaker, so I cannot locate her. I'm only limited to sensing how she feels, whether she's alive and sensing what she is doing."

The Queen was not convinced. " So? She'll be Changed sooner or later. We'll be Changing that companion of hers tomorrow anyway, plus she is so keen, she'll be a better warrior. Compared to that delinquent girl of yours."

I rolled my eyes. Lola was a terrible warrior. The last time I visited Minerva during practice she was so pathetic to the extent that she was unable to hold a dagger properly. Good warrior? My Lady must be kidding me.

"So?" I mimicked her. "So from what I've gathered she is running away from something, I think."

The Queen was silenced for a few moments. She pondered over my words. "She is.. running away from something?"

"If I'm not wrong, yes."

Her eyes widened at my words. "You shall bring her back. Bring her back, Change her, and prepare for battle."

"I don't know how to."

She snorted. "That's your problem."

With that she sauntered away, her blonde hair swishing back and forth as she walked, her slim figure disappearing into the chambers of where she stayed, and leaving me standing dumbfounded and confused, with questions running through my head.

Where would Kayla be? Would Kayla even want to be Changed? How do I even prepare her for battle?

Endless questions run through my head, as I looked out one of the windows.

It was past dawn, another new day.

Time to look for Kayla.
