{Tyke's POV}

I held her hand and headed somewhere else. Someplace deserted and that no one would hear us. We stopped at a clearing. "Sit," I said calmly.

She sat.

"What do you want to know?" I asked.

Her ocean-blue eyes held a steady gaze. "I want to know," She paused, "everything."

"Where do you want me to start?"

"How would I know?" She asked. "I don't even know anything. Start with your, I don't know, mind-reading ability?"

I looked at my wrist for a moment. Her eyes widened at the sight of it. In a split second, her hand shot out to reach for my wrist. She started observing it. "Oh, I have it too." She placed her blood-stained wrist next to mine. "See?" Two pairs of identical wing marks soody by side by side.

"I had it since birth, Lollie says it is a tattoo," She rambled on.

"Kaelie, stop." Questioning ocean-blue eyes fixated on me, demanding for an answer. "Lola told you a lie."

Her face changed. "What do you mean...?"

I took a breath, and then continued. "That is not a tattoo. It is a Mark. That," I said, pointing to her wrist, "is the Mark of Bonding."

She looked puzzled. "Humans couldn't receive Marks, Minerva said..." Her voice trailed off.

He nodded in agreement. "Yes, but ever since you two came, the Queen wanted to make you two... invincible."

Her mouth dropped wide open. "She's insane!"

"Kayla, that's rude. Anyway, as I was saying. Our Lady wanted to make you two invincible, so she decided to bond you two with a faerie each. I was chosen to be bonded with you, while Lola- "

Her mouth closed. "Ohmy. Lollie what?"

"Lola she.. nearly died from the bonding." Kayla gasped. "But we decided stop her from bonding, since she was too weak. Whereas you are much stronger."

She rolled her eyes for possibly the 500th time. "Yes, and definitely lucky enough to get bonded with you. Sheesh."

I ignored her comments and continued. "Being bonded means that both of them can sense each other's significant thoughts, whether each other is alive, and what each other is doing. Stronger bonds such as faerie-to-faerie can be used to locate wherever he/she is. Weaker bonds, however, can only be limited to the previous three. You and I have a weaker bond."

She listens tenatively and ponders over my words. "What if, one of the faerie dies. What will happen to the other bonded faerie?"

Great question. I have never thought of that before. "I think nothing will happen, I'm not sure."

"Oh..." She glances at the back of my hand. "Then what's this?"

I pointed to the Marks. "Flight, Strength."

She nodded calmly.

"You wanted to escape right? Let's go then."
