Peter's POV
I guess everything's fine now. Once she calmed down, Tony alone walked in and placed her in a different lab room. It's been a week and a half since Selene was brought here. Selene. She's so scared of us. We came on too strong, or maybe I came on too strong. I was the first person she saw, and I was so up close to her face. She freaked out because of me! God, why do I always screw everything up?

While ranting to myself, F.R.I.D.A.Y called out for me.

"Peter, Mr. Stark asked me to summon you. He's on the fifth floor waiting for you."

"Thanks F.R.I.D.A.Y" I took the elevator this time instead of dashing up the stairs. Mr. Stark's office was on the right as I walked down the brightly lit hallway.

"You wanted to see me Mr. Stark?"

"Peter, come in." I walked into his office and sat in the large, metallic chair. His face was like stone, still and unbothered as he continued his paperwork.

"So, the girl is stable. It took at least an hour to sedate her, but she's resting."

"Ok, then why did you call me? My job can't be done right?"

"Right, I still need you for this...particular assignment. When she awakes, I need you to spark a conversation. Do anything to get her talking. We need to know more in order to help her. Be careful though, she's a bit fragile."

Yeah no kidding. I saw the lab first, trust me I know. "No problem, Mr. Stark." Ok, how the hell am I gonna start a conversation with her? She tenses up with just a stare. How am I going to approach her without sending her into a frenzy? Wait.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y."

"Yes, Mr. Parker?"

"I need your help, quick."

3rd POV
Selene woke up to a dim lit room. The walls were the color of eggshells and there were needles strewn on a black marble table in neat, metal holders. There was another large, black table in the middle of the room. She looked up and saw two ceiling windows that poured a warm ray of sunlight into the room. She looked around and saw herself in a different lab. This one seemed more comfortable than frightening. Jumping off the lab table, she found herself in new clothing. Her slashed attire was exchanged for a pair of black joggers and a large, soft, navy blue sweatshirt. As she took in her new appearance, she walked to the closest sink in the lab and looked into the mirror. She found most of her cuts cleared up. Looking at her frazzled state, she heard the door click open and saw Peter walk in with a tray through the mirror.

"Selene? It's ok, I promise." Peter raised his hand as a sign of reassurance. "I brought something. I-uh, figured you might be starving so I-um, made you breakfast." He placed the tray on the large, marble table and sat down. Selene slowly came forward.

Upon moving, she found a plate with French toast and golden hash browns. The French toast was dusted with powdered sugar and a mix of blueberries and raspberries were placed on the side of the plate. In a separate bowl was a mix of strawberries and bananas. To complete the meal, came a glass of orange juice. Observing the plate, she sits and looks at Peter with suspicious eyes.

Peter's face began to frown at Selene's reaction. "I also wanted to apologize for freaking you out earlier. That was never my intention, I would never hurt anyone or anything. I was getting a-"

"How do I know you're not going to poison me with this?"

"Whoa, poison?! I-I can't- uh I would never-how would I.." Peter became a sprawling mess. He tried to explain, but quickly shut himself up when he noticed how tensed Selene got. He ran his hands through his hair and composed himself. He slowly reached his hand to grab hers, asking her permission to do so with his eyes.

"I would never poison you, or anyone for that matter." She still didn't seem convinced by his words. Peter caught an idea. Picking up a strawberry, Peter popped it in his mouth. "See? I'm still conscious." Selene eased up a bit, but still looked wary of his actions.

Peter looked down and began to lose hope in helping her. He began to stand up, until he heard a crunch. To his relief, he found Selene munching on a large strawberry in delight. His smile found its way back on his face and turned towards her again.

"I'm glad you like it." He chuckled.

Selene ate at least half of what was on her plate. Peter was elated that she began to soften up a bit. They started some small talk. Nothing special, more like a "How's your day?" kind of conversation. After a few minutes of silence, Selene spoke up.

"What was that song you sang?"

Peter looked up in confusion. "Hmm?"

"When I was convulsing. It took only those four lines to calm me down. It was enchanting almost. What was it?"

"Oh, it's from this show my aunt likes, Les Misérables."

"It sounds fantastic."

"Heh, the story is....actually really sad."

"Oh." She looked down in embarrassment for not knowing more about the topic.

Peter sensed her despondency. "Oh no, it's a phenomenal show, but the story can make you shed a tear or two." He grabbed both of her hands in his. "Don't worry, it's ok it's fine." Somehow, Peter felt obligated to tell her 'it's ok' more than he needed to. He hates seeing others in anguish and tries his best to make them smile, even if it kills him. She picks her head up , hopeful as one could be.

He shoots her a small smile. "Castle on a Cloud. Um-my aunt would sing that to me when I was younger."

"She sounds like a very special woman."

He kept on smiling. "Nah, she's just my aunt-" His phone began to buzz, crushing the moment. His body froze as he saw the time was 9:55am. "-who's gonna kill me if I'm not home when she gets there." As if struck by lightning, Peter dashes out of the chair and begins to race to the door.

"Peter wait-"

"I'm sorry Selene, I have to go. I'm glad you enjoyed the breakfast." Half of his body disappeared out the door.

"We'll talk more later right?"

Peter stopped in his tracks and looked back at Selene. With a small glance, he gave her a wide smile and nodded his head at her. "Yeah, yeah yeah definitely. Definitely yeah. I'll see you later Selene." He gently closed the door and ran down the numerous flights of stairs towards the exit.

"Thanks again F.R.I.D.A.Y! Bye Mr. Stark!"He yelled through the shaft and out the tower he went.

"Hey kid, wait!" Tony saw him dash and tried to catch him, but Peter was already out the door.

F.R.I.D.A.Y appeared to Tony. "Mr. Stark, I have the results for the girl."

"Great, what did you find F.R.I.D.A.Y?"

"There is no internal bleeding. Just a few cuts on her face and body. She seems to be functioning very well. She's up and eating the breakfast Mr. Parker made her."

Tony smiled to himself hearing that. "Good good, all good news."

"But, speaking of her body-"

"What's wrong with her body?"

"You'll have to come to one of the empty labs to have a closer observation, Mr. Stark."

Whoop whoop, it's a new chapter. Just a note: No school=more chapters. The updating schedule should actually have a schedule now. Happy reading.~🌹🐢
