The campers cheered and laughed. Jackie and Marlon were doing silly things behind Michael’s back on purpose to get the crowd laughing and having a good time. Marlon had a water gun and Jackie a cream pie and they creamed and watered Michael. The campers and counselors roared with laughter.  Cabin 4 had a skit to do so they were the first one’s up.

Cabin 10 had a song they wanted to sing for the campers. They sang “Off The Wall” by a current artist. Everyone joined the campers from cabin 10. They were the boys cabin. And then the girls in cabin 11 wanted to sing YMCA for the camp which also was a boys cabin and again everyone joined in. Cabin 1 stood and sang a Beatles song.

“In the town where I was born, lived a man who sailed to sea. And he told us of his life, in a yellow submarine.. We all like in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine……”

Finally, it was jokes each cabin had knock knock jokes and make the group laugh. The counselors toasted a marshmallow each for the campers which took a few minutes but they were excited. As they ate marshallows it was ghost story time. Cabin 3 counselor had a funny ghost story to tell. April had to admit this part was really fun and she found herself softening a bit to how this Michael Jackson was running his camp.

Sharon Walters cabin 3 counselor. A young boy named Johnny was a good boy and he always tried to do right by his family and friends. Johnny was a helpful young boy and although his own family didn’t have much, they always had love and helped each other. Well, one day Johnny was out playing with his friends in the neighborhood telling jokes and laughing just being a normal little boy when his mother called him and said. “Johnny I need you to go to the store and by some meat for us. We have nothing to eat and we need more meat to last us the week.” Johnny of course said he would go immediately. His mother gave him what little money they had for the meat and left to the store. On his way there some older children who did not know Johnny started to pick on him. He tried to be nice and leave but they didn’t want to let him go. They took his money and shoved him hard to the ground.. Johnny was so scared because now, he had no money to buy the meat his mother had trusted him to do and he couldn’t go home empty handed. So walking back towards his house he passed a cemetery. There was a fresh grave and Johnny thought mother wants a round roast so, he did something that he never thought he would do or could do. He cut the butt off the body and wrapped it in a brown plain wrapper and went home with it. His mother thanked him kissed his cheek and sent him back out to play while she made dinner. At dinner time they ate the meat and Johnny had to admit it was good even knowing what it was. His mother made it so good he forgot what he had done to survive for his family. That night while they were sleeping Johnny thought he heard a funny noise and at first blew it off to the wind outside. He could hear whatever it was just starting to climb thte stairs. And he thought he heard it say. Johnny, give me my butt back. Johnny’s thinking no way, has to be a dream. Halfway up the stairs he hears again. Give me my butt back Johnny. Johnny’s like okay real bad dream, maybe the meat was bad? A few minutes later at the top of the stairs. Johnny, give me my butt back. Johnny is starting to get a bit worried now. Down the hall. Give me my butt back Johnny. Johnny grabs his blanket and covers up tight to his neck. Watching the windows and doors. Coming up the hall halfway now. Give me my butt back Johnny. Johnny is really scared now and he wants to scream but he can’t. Outside his bedroom door, Give me my butt back Johnny. Now Johnny pulls the blanket tight over his head. The ghost of the man, flips Johnny over and cuts off his butt and slaps it back on where his butt was and says give me my butt back Johnny. Thank you for yours. And disappears!!
