3rd Person POV
Khione lifted Julian's head. He didn't have enough energy to do anything but comply. The goddess chuckled at the pitiful sight in front of her; Julian Glynn, trapped under the sky. She would need him eventually. She would need his blood. Erebos could only be born of blood. And how fitting would it be for Julian to be the sacrifice?
Khione pulled her hand back and Julian's head fell. His hair covered his face from this view and she watched him a few moments longer. His breath was irregular, sweat soaked through his clothes, and blood stains were still visible. Khione sighed as she pushed a bowl of water toward the demigod.
Jules lifted his head a little as the water splashed onto him. Khione moved the bowl back as Jules' head went limp again. Khione turned to leave; Jules' should have enough strength now for a few days.
"They'll come, you know." Jules' voice was hoarse. It stopped Khione in her tracks.
"No. They won't. They're too afraid of being attacked." Khione turned to the broken boy. He hadn't attempted a conversation in a long time.
"They need me. They'll realize that eventually."
"By then it will be too late. You see, Julian–"
"It's Jules."
Khione glared at Julian. "Well Jules. By the time they come to get you, you won't be here. Did you think I'd plan on letting you survive? On letting you live? You're a threat. You have one purpose to fulfill right now. And that is to die." Khione turned around and stalked away without letting Jules answer.
Jules knew he was going to die. As he sat under the star-filled sky, that wasn't the thought that bothered him the most.
I never got to tell Jay I loved her again.
Jules shivered as the thought crossed his mind. His mom would be overjoyed. Then she would be devastated. She would have Jay back, but she lost Jules.
Jules shivered harder as a gust of wind blew across the mountain. He was exhausted. He had given up counting the days he had been there. But he knew he wouldn't be there much longer. Despite the powers of Olympus being gone, he still had his empathy link with Khione. He could listen to her thoughts when he had enough strength.
Khione planned to raise Erebos in three days.
In three days Jules would no longer be under the sky.
In three days, Julian Glynn would die.
